Looks like a cable loomed and heat shrunked... you could probably do the same thing to a stock cable and have it last as long... Basically 5-7$/ft?

Do they have the authentication chip in them? I've had issues with knockoff cables that don't have the chip and charging.

The longer cables may or may not cause an error, but still allow for charging/normal use. None of the 3ft cables cause an error, also function normally.
