Trump is a five-year-old. He needs to be herded around and he needs to be fed good opinions. No one near him can do this in the best interests of the country.

We're supposed to have checks and balances. One is static, the other dynamic. One depends on the power of the judiciary, the other the power of the representatives. But a two-party system requires representatives to play nice or lose their job- rather than actually serve their constituents.
