Pilot bushing issue sr20det
So Im having a issue installing my input shaft into the flywheel on my freshly rebuilt sr20det with a new spec stage 2 clutch kit. So I got my engine into the bay all nicely but it just isn't popping into place.. Anybody else having this issue? Or advice? Should I shave off a little bit of the pilot bushing because it's a HELL of a tight fit! After that it should be a piece of cake.

U might have damage the pilot bearing when u installed it that's why the input shaft won't slide in remove it and buy another there only a couple bucks

Haha i have files and alot of other useful tools. I'm just having a problem popping the drive shaft into the engine. Seems like the pilot bushing is stopping it or something. Its just not going together like it should! I'm probably an inch away from the bellhousing connecting to the block but its (like i said before) not popping into place and fitting! Ughhhhh. I have the engine on the hoist just waiting for the 2 to connect but i'm having a terrible time..

I had that problem when I installed my 5 speed trans. Getting the input shaft in can be a little bastard. make sure you set the pilot bushing as far back as its supposed to be and push like a man. It should be easier if you have it on a hoist like you say. I did this from under the car and it took forever.

Yeah i bought a SPEC stage 2 clutch kit. I installed that onto the engine, now i'm trying to connect the engine to the tranny but it just isnt connecting like it should.. Maybe i just need to force it more im not sure. But its irritating. The clutch allignement tool barely fits at all. I have to tap it in with a hammer to have it fully inserted......
