The original white color on your ae86 is in excellent shape. Thus, it's differently a SR5 and NOT GTS. ALL original GTS (4AGE) were never painted in color white for the USA market, except for the SR5 (4AC). Thus, the tags were swap from a GTS (AE88) for your SR5 (AE86). Shamefully, this is a NO NO.
If your ae86 was authentically an original GTS, or if this build had an accurate description build of a "SR5 w/ 20V 4AGE swap" then you wouldn't have be so many club4ag members all over you trying to discredit this sale, or you. We want to protect our community, especially prospects who don't know much about the AE86. |

Can I just chime in and beat a dead horse real quick? I don't see how you guys missed it, but the rivets holding his VIN tags on are the farthest thing from factory, they have clearly been drilled out and replaced with your generic run of the mill rivets.

As stated in the ebay post, the VIN is: JT2AE88C0F0130686 and last 7 digits of the chassis as recognized by ploop, it's 0234083. not a match./edit I've also been following UJ's build (Karate_Crimson) on club4ag for a while and definitely remember this thing starting its life as an SR5. unfortunately the build page was 404'd. this is pretty damn illegal if the vins were swapped. V C Section 10752 Fraudulent Acquisition or Disposition of Vehicle Identification Number Penalty shame shame shame, for posting this as a GTS. GTSR5 is understandable, but as a GTS is some shady stuff. Hopefully this is just a misunderstanding. edit2: after actually looking through the thread. wtf man. 1. http://i.imgur.com/i1dnr.jpg 2. http://i.imgur.com/6d3Ue.png . /edit Last edited by mikeyee; 12-18-2012 at 11:54 PM.. |

I can vouch for this car also being a sr5 and I've been in the corolla scene from when OP first joined club4ag. Car is actually a 1986 or 1987 sr5 originally which he swapped from his flipped gts hatch. Vin is not connected to the dash board in these cars, its riveted onto the cowl which would need to be cut out as others stated or rivets drilled out with the windshield removed. Best option for OP would be to swap back vins and stop BSing everyone trying to get more money so he doesnt get sued for fraud (by the next owner), fined by the state, and possibly imprisoned. Sad to see someone who went from being a disrespected fan boy to someone who redeemed himself (in my eyes) over the years but only to turn out as a SCAMMER.
