rb20det basic mods dyno 212 hp 201 tq .. expected worse

I expected worse lol, i only tuned it because after the front mount, it was super rich, so used an apexi neo to tune it because my buddy hooked it up for a cheap price.

212 hp 201 tq on 10 psi, just reg premium gas, nothing special.

only have basic mods
3" exhaust
fmic
rb25 45v4 turbo just put it
apexi power intake
stock afm
stock injectors
tired coil packs
spark plugs gapped down cause they were misfiring under load when we
upped the boost, but also could be the tired coil packs.
wal pump

i was hoping to tune it at 14 psi, but kept it at 10 to keep it safe during the winter.

the turbo elbow from the turbine is heavily messed up, restrictive, because it was bent in so it clears the steering , i just ordered a custom pipe from the turbine to downpipe, so hopefully this helps with flow.

Unless you have a spare longblock I would not turn up the boost at all. In fact I would lower it and just daily drive it for the fun of having an RB series engine.

If you start turning up the power something might fail. And as rare as that engine is- you might have a hard expensive time replacing broken parts. Especially using something like a SAFC to correct for fuel. $.02

and king talon is a noob. how old are they plugs? what are they gapped to? if they are new and gap is decent pick up a new set of coils, new, not used, and swap those in. your safc is good to adjust fuel on a stock setup, i would keep stock injectors and turn it up to 14psi. you don't need bigger injectors to do that. what fuel pump are you running?

Something is wrong with your setup,

Stock RB20's will put down 230ish @13psi with a stock downpipe

Its especially low since your running a RB25 turbo.

rare engine? LOL I can pick up an rb20 for 1k easy.

walbro 255, plugs were just changed and gapped 0.8, yes i want to buy new coil packs, ive heard stock coil packs are just fine especially since im not trying for anything crazy here.

so turn up to boost to 14 psi after z32 afm, new coil packs, and tune?

yes i know its a low hp number, but it was after the car was already warmed up, they asked me if i wanted to wait for the car to cool down since it was heat soaked at that point, but i didnt care about the numbers, i cared about it running at a safe ratio right now.

A z32 MAF is not needed for your power level so save your money.

gap your plugs down to .028 and that should fix any misfire.

Def get a REAL tune. SAFC's are garbage cuz they cannot control timing

from what ive read, 212 hp at 10 psi on a 20 year old stockish rb20 isnt that bad? im sure if i waited the 1 hour for it to cool down, bump boost to 14 psi, it would of got a better result, but i was happy for now as its running at a safe number and im not fighting the issues i was having.

missing 30 hp? like i said the car was already heat soaked pretty much by they time they got a decent run in, they let me know it was heat soaked and wanted to wait for the car to cool off and do one more run, but i had to go, i had already been there for 4-5 hours.

Ill fix the problems i have, run some better gas, and see if i get some better results at a higher boost level. Rb25 turbo was only 105$ and i sold my stock rb20 turbo for 75$, so it was very cheap upgrade for me.

hobbs, i dont think i need that high lol, nice price though!
