Beautiful restoration here man- nice dedication to the details. It's impressive that you not only found all of those tough to find OEM parts, but you actually shelled out the cash to buy them.

Excited to see where this goes- very nice work!

Thanks for the liking and appreciation for my build/restore. Hearing that from one of my favorite Type-x builder's is great motivation for me to get this thing done.

Parts Install Updates

So i picked up all of the parts i needed to finish my front suspension and all the parts for my rear sub-frame to get started on it so i can drop my crappy original one out and replace it with all new bushing and suspension arms. Along with getting the rear knuckle bushings replaced for a better ride over all. And because i have it apart now i might as well do it since its all apart.

Here's a pic of my new rack installed with my cool gold isis sway bar and a picture of my tien inners an circuit sport outters on the new rack it all looks pretty good

Now that i got the front completely done including installing a solid steering column bushing which is a real pain in the ass i wont ever be doing that again even if you pay me . I started on my rear subframe burning out the bushings and sanding it down and respraying it black.

Burning the bushings (Stinky Stuff)

New Poly bushings installed and subframe painted

Then i had to drop my sub-frame in my car last time she see's the ground for awhile so i took a cool stance pick

Then i pulled down the old one and stripped most of my good parts off

Shot of the underside that i will be cleaning up and re-undercoating to give it that new look when i lift it up sometimes(hopefully never cuz everything will be new)

And here she sits in the dark waiting for all the cool stuff that is gong to happen to her along with the new wheels coming soon and then the new heart RB ftw.

I will have updates of the subframe install along with pictures of the under coating process i will be doing this sunday.

Did you rattle can the subframe? I'm thinking of tackling that next on my car, but I was wondering if painting it with spray paint would be okay (for now).

I did rattle can it but i prepped it really good and cleaned it well to get all the old grease off it. It came out pretty nice.

The BC coils i got are the BR series but i have Swift 10kg front springs and 10kg rears springs and it rides really nice on full soft i never drift or tracked it when it was driving i just wanted it low an to look cool.

Updates

So my goals these past couple of weekends were to get rear suspension completely assembled and installed. But i had to clean and undercoat the bottom of my car first well mainly the rear i already did the front. the undercoating was the dirtiest part of this build so far. but the results are amazing and so worth it to keep the bottom side from rusting.

Here is how the underside turned out

Then i took my rear knuckles out to get the old bushings pushed out and have them powder coated black. And then install some cool poly bushings.

They turned out great and Bretts grandfather owner of Yokleys Automoive Repair another 240sx guru helped me get these bushings pressed back in. If your in Clermont, FL you should check them out for any of your automotive needs great people work in that shop.

After the knuckles were done i completely assembled my rear subframe with all my new parts. and it looked so good i didn't want to put it back in lol

That same night i put it up but it was too dark to take pics. So the next day i went in and torqued down all the mounting points for the diff and installed my cleaned up BC coilovers and installed my Isis toe arms. An man can i say this thing it really solid i used to be able to move this thing a a little but everything is so tight and on point i cant wait to drive this thing an take through a turn.

Here is a pic of it installed

More cool parts came in like OEM shift boot

Some steel braided Brake lines front for Z32's an stock rears

I also picked up a sweet mint uncracked brown dash from a friend of mine Kevin who owns cool little cream s13 thats doing a crazy build on his car right now. and i know what you guys are thinking like BROWN WTF but im getting this thing professionally dyed black by my painter Clay the miracle worker

Here is a picture before dye

And after dye it looks so good and feel great to never knew i could do this but i was like damn this thing looks brand new after this

While i was there a snapped a picture of this 240z he did a crazy paint job on that looks like glass not one wave or run or even orange peel it looks amazing check it out. Now this car is gonna be sick with its Rb25 single turbo it getting.

Thanks bro you seem to be one of the few who really appreciate the quality of this build. Wait untill you see the parts update tonight of the crazy rare oem parts i got today bro. I just cleaned the shit out of it and wire wheeled all the little spots of rust under the car and scuffed most of it up with a 400 grit sand paper. and then degreased the CRAP out of it. let it dry for a day and then sprayed the undercoat

Holy shit man, car started out typical but turned around real fucking quick. I have a friend who works at Nissan so I'll be getting oem goodies through him now. I didn't know such parts were available. Your build is awesome man, love the oem way. I'm just indifferent about the RB only cause I'm afraid of them since I know nothing about them.

Yeah I appreciate the details. It really is in the small stuff, right? I'm in a similar stage as you right now with getting ready to coat the inside and underbody so I wanted your take on what you did for prep. Can't wait to see more!
