Thats about the same as how my engine sits except mine is lower. Probably because I'm using nissan mounts still.

when did you purchase the Xcessive mounts? i know they have just recently in the past 2-3 months changed them a bit to fix some issues, and clearly it worked, because there is no way the motor could be positioned any better.
Purchased 6 months ago probably - returned them since

Anyone used a non-toyota transmission with the 2jz. I have seen a few 300zx and 350z adapter plate but anyone tried it. R154 are starting to be really expensive and I have a 300zx tranny laying in the garage.

Pretty sure ive seen atleast one of those done... or maybe it was a Z33 trans that was done? You should do it and provide the community with a nice write-up!

quick question on the heater hoses.

i want to use orange heater hoses, and not sure if there is a particular place to get them, but for the heater hoses does it matter where you hook them up? or does it not matter for inlet and outlet?

the 1jz vvti has 2 openings, one on the exhaust side right next to the firewall heater hose inlets, and one on the intake side near the fuel rail kind of. does the one closest to the fire wall go on the top inlet on the firewall?

let me know!

thanks!

it doesn't matter, as long as coolant flows in and out of the heater core. But for easy of installation the bottom one should go to the exhaust side. and top one to the other.

i was pretty set on running the VQ 6 speed for awhile, but you need to spend quite a bit of money on top of just the transmission to get it working in the car, not to mention the shifter assembly has to be cut and shortened, seemed like more of a headache and money pit then it was worth, i just went with a strengthened R154

That should be fine, the ISIS FMIC is actually pretty decent sized, it should easily be able to support up to around 450WHP

Using the 90-96 6 bolt input shafts, which lets you use the beefy z32 tt axle and y32 axle.

6 Bolt axles are the way to go, I'm using a J30 Diff with the 6 Bolt axles, and 3.91 gears. should be just perfect. actually using the ABS Wheel speed sensor on the pumpkin to get the speedo signal for my cluster as well, saves you from having to use funky speed sensor on the R154

only thing stopping me from going j30 diff is that I already have a custom drive shaft on my r154 -> non abs 240 diff.

are all j30 diff abs?

I actually cant say for sure, but i Believe they all are, the only reason i'm using it is really for the 3.91 gears, i ditched the VLSD unit for a Tomei 2-Way one.

i dont mean to drag the whole conversation about what motor brackets fit the best but I would like to put my story in.

I purchased my xcessive brackets from frsport and I noticed they gave me the option of an s13 or s14 brackets. Where as other websites selling the xcessive brackets did not give you that option. So I called xcessive personally and they had said it does in fact matter if you purchase the s13 or s14 brackets due to proper fitment. So some of you with fitment issues might have the wrong option brackets?

This is for 1jz into s13 btw. I have not test fitted mines yet but I wil let you guys know

You are Correct, hence why most people who purchased the Xcessive Brackets Pre-August 2013 had problems, this was just recently fixed, the mounting faces of the subframes are different between S13 and S14, i purchased the new S14 brackets from Xcessive, and they fit absolutely perfectly, you seriously cant beat them for the price, and the quality is top notch.

SO...as I was going to put on my oil pump and everything else, I noticed something.

It is small, but large enough to catch your fingernail if you run across it.
I have already emailed the dealership I got them from about getting an exchange.
Knowing most dealerships, they will most likely tell me to fck off.
What are the chances of this thing leaking if I still try to use it? I just want to get a second opinion before I shell out another paycheck for an oil pump.

I'm going to be doing the same thing. I have blades from a sc300, mk4 tt, ka24 and a 7mgte, and clutches from a ls400, sc300, and sr20. im going to hopefully find out a combo that works the best.

Personally if I couldnt get an exchange I would use the black toyota rtv, install front main, call it a day.

So I can confirm the xcessive s13 brackets fit perfectly. I'm using solid mounts and it sits so low....I definitely need a skid plate because the oil pan sits lower the the crossmember by about 3/4".
