Not sure what to think about that, the second pic shows the rear tire is a 265 but they sure look wider in the original pic. Also, it looks like he could easily run much more rear tire and still clear his massive quarter panel/flares.

Yeah I saw it said 265 but like you guys mentioned the first pic shows quite a bit more meat so I believe he switched to a 295 later.

Silviaks2nr,

First off, NICE JOB!

2nd, Would you change offset or width at all, were you to re-order a set of CCWs? Hows the inboard clearance front and back, any pics? Where is it rubbing in front?

Totally sweet!

The rear is perfect, maybe could have gone with a higher offset or x11.5 and 305 since there is a little more clearance towards the shock. the front is actually a +12 offset which I thought would clear based on my measurements but I needed a 5/16" slip on to have it off the coilover so that's why it rubs the fender slightly.

Its way to hard to keep a 275 up front without having to destroy/modify your front fenders and bumper. Not to mention I was on stock wheel wells.

Was this on an s13?

I'm curious to hear why you say "contact patch isn't everything..."

I am looking at 17x10.5 +15 for the front and want to run 275's or 285's.

Your wheels are almost the exact same specs as mine, sizes are the same but the offset is a few mm off. Beautiful!

I dream of someday buying 17x10 front 17x11 rear, +10 or so CCWs for my S13. CCWs are unmatched in performance, weight and looks IMO.

That s13 hatch puts my hatch to shame lol.. here 18x11+0 with 295/30/18 square setup for now... his rear looks massive with overfenders and flares together hah.. i wonder how a bn blister setup with flares would be hah!

Anyways to all the haters, that hatch looks TOTALLY BAD ASS

Tires: TOYO R888 all around 275/40-17
Wheels: Enkei RPF1 17x9.5 +18(front), 17x10 +18(rear)

Origin Lab front and rear fenders. Both with inner fiberglass lip removal to maximize tire clearance. I also had to cut up the lower part of my front bumper (both sides) to eliminate the tires rubbing on the track.

for all the rubber experts out there,

what tire size will fit a 16x7 +40 on an s13 with no rub without needing spacers? (yes, i know its a weak offset, whatever)

and if i do put spacers to make it more flush, what size spacers will i need, and what tire size could i go then?

im on a shock/spring setup, lowered 1.5 inches F/R

Just wondering, are you changing gearing to run that size on the rear? By chance, did you mean 335/30/18?

Sounds pretty fast either way.

RAMM,

How do you like the R888s? I've heard they can be a bear in the cold? Do they take a while to heat up on the street? Are you happy with the staggered set-up? I've always wanted to try them. How many street miles have you put on them?

Try and get a larger front tire on there, or reduce the size of the rear tire. Try and get the stagger to be within 30mm of the front tires. From my experiences S-Chassis cars don't really respond to well with a large difference in stagger on the track.

Yes, they are R-Compound tires so on the street they do not perform that well. You definitely need to put some heat in them for them to actually work. I used the tires on the track primarily and would occasionally take them out on the street for a cruise. I ran 275's ALL AROUND in that picture.

I put close to 1000 street miles on the tires. Mainly just cruising around and breaking in the motor, the majority of the wear on the tires came from the 3 track days that I put on them.

If your looking for a tire that heats up quick, check out the Toyo R1R. They need a little less time to heat up, and are a dedicated Street Tire.

Or if you want a badass street tire for the money...go on tirerack and order up some Kumho XS.
