Throw the 595 in the garbage. Is this for a grip or drag setup? If you're on a budget, I'd got Nitto NT05 drag radials for drag. Only catch is the shallow thread depth but for the price, you can't complain. Grip would go Hankook RS-3. If you're not a fan, Dunlop Star Spec IIs or best all around street tires, Michelin PSS but expensive a fuck.

stupid simple question(confused)

hi, i have a dumb question to ask, im still learning about offsets.

anyways I am replacing one of my rear rota p45r wheels.
here are the current measurements-
17X8.5
17X9
235/40/17
225/40/17

my question is, I just ordered a replacement wheel for the rear. same measurements 17x9 5x114.3, cept the offset on this one is 30mm.
my current offset of the rear is 12mm.

Do I need to get a 18mm spacer for the 30mm offset wheel?
i know this is dumb but it was the only wheel i could find. any input would help thanks!

FLIP...actually just for street use. I have MT Bias Ply for drag use. I am trying to figure something out that's rather budget friendly and still help me keep the rear end planted "decently" for street use.

Cheapest out of the bunch is probably Nitto NT05s. Only catch with them is the shallow thread depth. Right now, I've been running General G-Max in the rears. They're decent tires, not super sticky compared to what I listed above, they're not bad for all season tires and pretty predictable when they lose grip.

Are the Rs-r that bad? Found a set for $120 each shipped and the reviews were pretty good. If you want to take the convo to pm that's cool.....don't want to cog the thread.

Well, they're not bad, but for extreme high performance summer tires, they're in the back of the pack. But since they're cheap, that kinda makes up for it. $120 shipped? Those brand new? In your case, since you're looking for meaty tires, and you found them for $120 shipped, I'd probably jump on them. Cant say I've ever seen them that cheap for wide tires and nothing else out there will touch that price. Even NT05s are gonna run atleast $160-180 per.

Yeah was traveling for work recently and found them on a site I saved. I will try and post the site here once I find it. It was $120 without shipping though.

They run a tad bit wider than most I've seen. But either way, 235/40-18 will still be a stretch. I personally prefer 225/40-18s on 10js, thats all I've run in the last 5 yrs. Currently running Michelin PSS up front on these specs.

alright first, is a 225/35 on a 18x9.5 + 12 a good set up for stock front s13 fenders (rolled, not pulled) Second, what size tire should i run on a 18x10.5 +15 (gonna add 15mm spacers) thatll be on a s13 with 50mm rear overfenders. Takidashi orgin overfenders to be exact. trying to stay away from alot of camber. i was thinking maybe a 245/35? i will be dropping it some what flush as well. thanks

225/35 is a great size for 18x9.5 up front, i had the exact same specs, xt7's in 18x9.5+12 up front, 225/40 was way to tall and rubbed everything even after hammering and looked super goofy, this was with stock fenders/roll

yeah 225/40 in the front is just too much sidewall. I used to run 215/35/18 up front but that was pretty extreme

Right now I'm running 18x10.5 -21 up front with 30mm over and lots of camber and 19x11.5 -11 with lots of camber with chargespeed overs out back.

The front should be fine but the rears will need lots of camber.

front and rear will require a decent stretch.

shit i just order the 225/40/18 for the 18x9.5+12 bc it suppose to be a good fit for that rim..so you recommmend the 225/35 and it wont rub

Pretty much ^^^ new question. I have 50mm tatakidashi rear overs and have 18x10.5 +15s, is a 275/35 to much to fit in the back?? I will add spacers to get as flush as possible without rubbing.

http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/2687/p1310622.jpg

Found this pic of 18x10.5s +15 with 275/35s with charge speed overs, pretty sure they're 50mms too but he never mentioned if he had used spacers, but I know a 10.5 + 15s not gonna sit all the way out there

I'll never understand the hate over 225/40-18s. Same overall diameter as the stock S14 SE wheels with 205/55-16.

At certain heights and offsets it's just too much sidewall. I used to run 215/35 and had NO rubbing lock to lock or rubbing/bottoming on the rails. but I stepped it up to a 225/40 and boom, rubbing everywhere, and the car sat higher.

I went through the same on my new wheels. 235/40 on a 10.5 was a disaster for rubbing. i couldnt even turn the wheel all the way anymore....but since I mounted 235/35s....NO issues yet again

I've been searching but haven't quite found and exact answer. I'm looking at a set of wheels. It's going on an S13 with TEIN coilovers, stock body no rolls or pull. I'm not trying to get flush, just want them to clear the suspension safely.
17x8.5 +45 and 17x9 +38 with 215/45 all around

I pretty sure the front's won't clear at +45. I'm guessing with a 12mm spacer up front it will clear and i could leave the rears as is?

Yes and yes. Also depends on your tire sizes. If that's in check, a 12mm will be fine.

I would go as far as to say 15mm would be the minimum in terms of looks. As for the rear, that's cool, but I'd throw in a slip on spacer--again for aesthetic reasons only.

You're in Japan, get better wheels...you walk to the closest upgarage to you, I bet you'd find some decent wheels.

Hope you're aware that the front wont fit without and spacers since its gonna be sitting against the coilovers. You'd probably need 7-10mm spacers from what I remember running cusco coilovers. As far as running wide tires, I wouldnt even try anything wider/taller than 225/40-18s. Anything larger than that will just piss you off. I'm rubbing all over the front right now and all I did was switch from 225/40 Dunlop Star Specs to Michelin PSS. Wasnt rubbing much on the Star Specs but the PSS were taller and I started rubbing on everything. Rears, if you pull it and maybe run some slight camber, you can fit 265/35-18s back there. I've ran those on 18x11 +28 on my rears with minimal work.

fliprayzin240sx thank u for your reply sir. I knew I was going to have to run a spacer in the front. if 225/40/18 is the widest tire I can fit, I'm thinking a 20mm/25mm spacer in the front. Do u know if the kumho ast runs wide/big? I'm just running out of cash, lol, and my damn pivot ball broke today before even driving the car so I will be pulling the trans in the morning.

What do you think spacer-wise for the front? How much of a pull in the rear will be needed with 265/35/18? Should I get 255/35/18? I have a buddy with a eastwood I just don't want a crazy pull; slight pull is all good. Thanks for the help!

I am dying trying to find a set up with 16x8s all around. I am having troubles trying to figure out the best offset for me. My s13 coupe is slammed on Pbms and has a fully adjustable suspension all around. I'm picking up a set of diamond racing wheels soon. Can someone please help!
