I just replaced my rear s14 brake pads + rotors with hawks pads and brembo rotors. After installation my e brake doesn't lock like it used to and there's uneven wear on the rotors (inner is getting more worn than outer). Any suggestions??? I'm thinking caliper guide pins are bad?

Either seized slide pins or a sticking caliper. Did you use a silicone lube on the pins?

Get a large tube of super glue, and baking soda. Mix the stuff up and quickly get it under the edges, then fill in. You can also use bondo that has been thinned out. Using 400g sandpaper, sand it smooth, then use vinyl paint and a texture roller to match it up

If pumping brake pedal while car is on and rpms begin to slowly drop means I have a booster/vacuum leak, is that right?

KA

I have a 1990 single cam 240. Today I got in my car started it up, check engine light was on but it ran great, about 5 min later the check engine light turned off and the car bogged down and died. Has anyone had the happen? What could be wrong. I searched and found no similar problems. The check engine light is normally off btw. I was able to start it after a while of cranking and the check engine light came on again and ran fine. 2 min later the light went off and bogged down.

you need to run the test while the CEL is on. its an OBD1 ecu, it doesnt have memory functions like OBD2 does.

I was wondering if someone could confirm or deny if the cause of this transmission noise is a bad throw-out bearing

Heres a short video of the noise: https://youtu.be/EeiW2ZU7hs0

You can use moog mazda 3 endlinks (not Mazdaspeed) and those work pretty good. Two sealed ball joints instead of sphericals.

They work for s13 so I suspect they work fine for s14, too.

Im new to the forum, im looking for a wiring guide for the white under dash plug for a s13

i have a 1990 240sx hatch, recently did a red top sr20det swap.

the engine has good compression, fuel pressure, proper timing, and so forth.

the engine will crank over and its a battle to start it, i have to keep the throttle body wide open for it to start.

once it starts it dies instantly.

i took the fuel rail off and had my buddy crank it over, the injector spray is puney, not very strong.

my honda s2k has a way more powerful spray than these things...

my local "injection" shop tested the injectors and they said they are good.... im thinking either they are full of crap or the constant 12v has intermittent problems, the red wire, should i just hard wire them to the battery and see if that solves my problem?

I really appreciate any help here im starting to get really frustrated with this incredible swap.

also, does anybody have a better wiring for the fuse box wires from the harness? and the white under dash plug?

better than FRsports crummy one?

thanks!

unplug your MAF, then start it... if it runs, youve found your issue.

Is there a way to test popup headlight motors with them out of the car? I was thinking i could just apply power to certain prongs and get them to work, just to see which ones are working. I have 2 sets, 1 set wouldnt pop up and i went silvia front anyway. Now i need them, and i am wondering which set will work
