Dyno tuned the car today. Car spinning the tires through 4th gear with 4 tie downs on the rear control arms.

Hahaha - that's an INSANE amount of tire spin. Are you gonna put the engine on a dyno separately to get a tune down, or run it how it is? Were you able to get any "usable" data?

started spinning around 4500 rpm. then no usable data.

Running 110 leaded fuel, 18 degrees advance timing, no hint of detonation, safe AFR, also on the final tunes we had increased the load to a level that the car would never see. So if it wasn't detonating then, it should be good.

Oh, well then it did get you some good info

Fuel rail came out great - painted gloss black (with custom "fingerprint" imprints in it ) with black fittings - better pics when I actually have the motor in the car.

... and tonight I'm "fabricating" a tucked/depinned/loomed/FWD SR20 harness - it's balllerrrrrrrr. Almost done.

Busted out three almost identical cages for three power everything S13 hatches so they all could make it to hyperfest(which I can't even make it too... fml).

Tightest fitting cages yet, you can actually weld the main hoop to the b-pillar and the sunroof support beam, the forward bars to the lower a pillar, and the headache bar to structural area above the windshield. All cages were hit with a half coat of paint in the areas that were impossible to reach when the cage was raised up into place but none of the paint jobs are fully done.

I have too many s13's floating around at the house... 5 at the house:

And 4 at the garage:

Zacks drifty car. After seeing the white 18's on the red car we didn't even give him a choice on cage color. White and red combo is killer.

Miguels track S13. Solid handling car and the 260hwp isn't that bad either. The red cage disappears in the car.

Steak's welds...

And he was rusty!

Don't have pictures of the third yet, we're not completely finished and he had to run to hyperfest, and he has a few extra bars compared to these guys.

Made a custom firewall support bracket!

Lol, j/k, it's my fuel filter bracket. Here's the "complete" fuel setup, just need to cut the Aeroquip line:

Hopefully I'll have finished engine bay pics by next week.

Yeah I almost bought the AEM EMS off the guy that you build that car for, back in the day. It's been through a few hands.

Luke, you had that car up at the old shop when I was up there! Did you buy it, or did the customer drop it off/pick it up/drop it off again?

As far as fab work goes, last night I finally dealt with my broken exhaust studs. Some jackass that had the motor before me tried to drill them out, but was so far off center that I was afraid I wouldn't be able to save the threads.

Alas, I was victorious, on both studs!

Then I chased the threads with a tap, luckily they seemed fine.

... Then I made these sweet fuel line holders, so the fuel lines will be rubber-mounted to the shock tower as well as the firewall (I didn't want them rattling around).

Yeah, since the stock lines are 5/16" (-5an) and there are no 5/16" fittings, I used a "flareless" insert fitting on the bottom into a -5an => -6an adapter, and I have -6an fittings/line for the FPR, filter, and fuel rail. I got them from Baker Precision, but I think Earls has the same stuff.

Hope nothing leaks.

Here!!!

Today I completed the first fabrication with the welder I got from my Grandpa. This is using flux core still. Need to get the gas and the new wire still. Just bought a helmet today from Lowes so the gas and wire will come later.

Not car related but I wanted to get feedback on the welding. It was the first time in about 6-7 years Ive played with a Mig gun. Didn't think to take a pic of the weld before I painted it but here it is anyways.

I welded the round circular thing with a set screw/bolt to the plate that my Grandpa had already welded in the tire. Its for a round piece of pipe that has an eye bolt in it that holds up a net for a game called Pickleball (see picture at the end of this post for what the heck Im talking about). Looks like a tennis net more or less. And this setup/contraption holds the two rods that the net is pulled tight with. It also can be adjusted for height to hold a volleyball net as well.

First side:

Second:

Finished product:

I havnt posted any fab work here in a while, so i thought it was about time. theres alot of new work all of you are doing...its great! keep me stuck for hours...

anyways, this is/was a 1994 chevy truck that belongs to my roomate, we are both working on....the plan is to stretch it, slightly chop the cab, body drop, scratch built chassis, cummins diesel engine. Nothing too serious Anyways, this is where i'm at so far......

these fenders will be used to make a fiberglass mold...we are considering leaving that rec hole in it.....also notice the tire peaking above the hoodline on purpose....looks like we will havto add some "tire bulges"!

ok now for the rear kickups and such....the kickups themselves we made from rec tube (i also roughly used cad to help us decide on their final shape) we are going 10 lug with these "turned down" bigrig wheels to fit low profile tires. also a four link be being used here....

we are plating the sides of the kickups with aluminum plates as seen below...

and here we are building the rearlink brackets...

and now for the rear platform offset to match the diffhousing....and its mounting brackets so it is removable.....

and right now we are working on strengthening the rear platform, starting with some cardboard for mockup....
