Well....if you're in Norfolk the last of your worries will be cops. It will be driving it that low and not dyeing or breaking your suspension.....seriously.

If you are coming to Norfolk though you have to hit me up! I'm in Virginia Beach, and lived in Norfolk for 3-4 years so I can give you some suggestions, haha.

But over all, VA is pretty gay about cars. If you have a loud exhaust and are really low you'll get pulled over every now and then. Out of state tags will help, a LOT. Then again, I was driving my car a few months ago at like 1230am and I had a cop pull up behind me, then just pull around and keep going. I have no speedo hooked up or lights over my rear plate, never mind my 4" straight pipe and ride height. So you can definitely get lucky, haha. At least you don't have to deal with emissions down here (yet).

i dunno about norfolk, but most of VA sucks because of must stricter laws regarding how often you need state inspection, how often you need emissions inspection, and if you get tickets they will throw the book at you.

Norfolk is pretty ghetto, so most of the cops have better things to do then pull over low cars with exhaust.

I, however, was pulled by the head traffic cop in Norfolk when I had a straight pipe on my KA-T and he through the fucking book at me. He looked under the car, made me pop the hood, took pictures, measured the pipe, and all that shit. I was ticketed for 'improper pollution control' for no cat, 'improper muffling system' for no muffler, and 'disturbing the peace' for the loudness of it. That last one is a class one misdemeanor....like just as bad legally as possession of marijuana in VA (which has retarded laws on that as well).

Luckily, it was all dropped when I fixed it all and showed up to court with receipts. It sounded better anyway.

You should be fine in Va/Norfolk, being military means a lot to cops so they'll usually let you go whatever your doing unless it involves speeding.

jesus. you guys are making me love florida even though i want to move away so badly.

i think police here have given a citation for being too low once, ever. loud exhausts arent even too much of a problem. i drove around tallahassee with an open downpipe ka-t for 4 months and never got a ticket. we dont even have state inspections or emissions laws. its pretty awesome.

And speaking about being low, it looks like I ripped a lower metal gasket which then separated the exhaust pipes on my way into the office. It is soooo loud.

Gotta love Tallahassee for that. Although 35-45 speed limits damn near everywhere you go sucks. Oh and the Cop to population ratio is ridiculous.

In all fairness, I made it 4-5 months before that ticket stop happened, haha. I also haven't been harassed since then (~4-5 years ago).

I personally think it's stupid, but none of us have ever gotton a ride height citation in Tampa fl, and only once have any of us gotton modified exhaust tickets.

They like to pull over the Hondas for some reason though

im pretty sure that's SIR-G front lip. ITR lip is the one shown in the prior post and that's for the FIRST batch of ITRs, the 4 lug ones etc. i think 95-96 or something. then 97-01 had a facelift with other exterior add on packages like rear valence, and side skirts

My understanding is Virginia, being a commonwealth, can write you citations for violating any of their laws. ie if your from new york with " new york" window tint and are driving through VA on your way to say Fl, you can get pulled over and a citation for your window tint. I had Guam plates on my car and still got pulled for exhaust and tint. Mind you the cop wrote the ticket stating i had Va Registration with my Guam plate numbers....I think it all depends on the mood the officer is in that day!
