Seriously, you don't. In order for you to get it, you have to have compassion. You have to look at the problem holistically- that poverty causes hunger, hunger causes learning disabilities and behavior problems, and learning disabilities and behavior problems perpetuate poverty. Also, what the flying fuck are you talking about that we're equal under the law "in practice?" That's PRECISELY why people are protesting- because we fucking aren't. Are you saying that black people dont commit crimes? but still have crimes committed on them by black people and dont say anything? And still somehow are overrepresented in the criminal justice system? And this has nothing to do with rampant crime in black communities? Are you saying that they arent impoverished to the point of having to resort to crime to survive? I dont get your point. I really dont. Youre saying things that sound good, but are actually damning. You resort to willful ignorance, I'll resort to utilizing actual information from verifiable sources. You're right that I've derailed this thread by asking you all to come up with facts for your claims and you've done literally fuck-all to prove them. You're aping your candidate- falsehoods are your currency and you're spending big bucks. Neither choice is worth a good goddamn. Neither choice will enact meaningful positive change. We need to contact our representatives and ask them why these are our choices, why they've done so poorly as to nominate such piss-poor examples as the leader of our country. They say no issue can survive more than 3.5% of the country protesting. More than 3.5% were supposedly protesting for police reform and yet Biden and Harris are the Democratic nominees for President and Vice President. Peaceful resistance fails to enact meaningful change just under half the times it's used, and it looks like we've failed this time around. It will be interesting to see what happens on November 4th. No matter who wins, we need to protest our nominees. We need to protest our entire system, because it needs updating- and fast. Every generation, the shit gets deeper. The divides, the inequality, the inefficiency. Every generation, the courts get harder for the little guy to use against the big guy. We don't have the same NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB- and we need to use the extra time we have to educate ourselves, to be doubtful of government, to be willing to open our hearts and minds to new ideas and how to implement them in ways that are keeping with our ideals of equality of freedom. |
