Yeah trying, its taking longer than I thought but I dont think im going to be anywhere to $400 maybe not even close to $100. Just some Radioshack & Ebay shopping I know you can pull it off LMK if you need help with it

unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, it looks like you're going to need to shim that diff. I bought a used tomei 2way diff with 4.36 gears, and it whined real bad when I installed it. I pulled it out, and without even using paint I could see the terrible contact points on the ring, right on the outside. whoever had put the diff together used factory shims and didn't check it.

regardless, build is looking awesome man! just finished my holset 1j swap into my 180sx. Absolutely nuts. you're going to love yours when its done

Curious how hard the wiring would be on this from motor to chassis, can't wait to tackle this project in the next few weeks. Looking good so far!!!

UPDATE TIME

Got some cool thing that i've gathered, some for the 1J some are Aero parts

My Xcessive Manu. Mounts came & man these things are nice! Love the quality of the mounts & im sure they'll do the job of hold the 1J Down

Also recieved my Order of XRP Fuel Lines/Push AN Fittings from Mr. Broadfield & there Top Notch! Haven't got around to installing all of them but I did install one on my Fuel Rail as well as Deleting my Fuel Dampener

The only thing I couldn't get from XRP was a Adapter Fitting to my Stock Fuel Rail So I went & picked one up at DriftMotion its a 12x 1.25 to 6an Fitting

Since I was at DriftMotion I also bought a Sump Pan Service Plug since I was missing one

The little stuff count to so I went down to the Local Ace Hardware & Picked up 2 4mm for my TPS & 4 8mm Nuts for my Water Pump Pulley since Iwas missing them

Also way back when when I pulled out my KA I crimped my Steering Rack Hardlines so a Buddy of mine 89_240jdm hooked me up with some for FREE!

Besides doing 1J stuff I picked up some Aero Goodies & bought a Legit D-MAX Roof Wang!

A Set of Real SuperMade Hood Vents

& a set of Power East Bears Mirrors

Got some more stuff on the way & almost have my Wheel tubs finish so I'll be back with a update once their finished!

Yup sure am, they will be extended with the XRP push fitting hose & ran across the firewall but there's a couple of other ways of doing it but I felt this was good to me

U P D A T E ! !

Ok so since I am damn near done with my Engine Bay & got my computer back in order its time for a F**CKIN UPDATE!

The Tubs were a HEADACHE! Alot of Ups & Downs, Thinking, Cutting, Welding, Time, Money, Food, More Time, Bondo, Sanding & alot of other Shit!

I have to give all the WELDING Credit to my buddy Kadeem (AYE MAN THIS IS KADEEM!!!) from HOOD WORKS for Welding my Tubs!

& BTW WE DID USE A FLUX CORE HARBOR FREIGHT WELDER! IT DID THE JOB BUT WAS HARD IN SOME AREAS & WOULD RECOMMEND TIG WELDING FOR SUREEEE! & PLAN ON GRINDING ALOT OF POPCORN WELDS! WE WORKED WITH WHAT WE HAD

WHAT I USED FOR MY TUBS WAS A TRAILER FENDER I ONLY PURCHASED 1 & CUT IT IN HALF I BELIEVE THE DIMENSIONS WERE 9X32X16 & ALSO USED A 4X4 18GA SHEET OF SHEET METAL

SOME INSTANT MOCK UPS

STARTING TACKING/WELDING THE DRIVERSIDE FIRST

HOOD WORKS APPROVED!

I APPROVED!

THEN ON TO THE PASSENGER SIDE

DONE WELDING!

THEN IT WAS ONTO THE SHITTEST PART OF GRINDING DOWN THE WELDS & FILLING THEM WITH BONDO

FIRST TIME USING BONDO SO IT WAS A LERANING EXPERIENCE

THEN SANDED IT DOWN, THE DIE GRINDER SAVED ME A SHIT TON OF TIME!

THEN PREPPED IT FOR PRIMER (sorry for the blurry pics)

AFTER I SPRAYED IT I USED DUPLI-COLOR GRAY PRIMER, SORRY FOR THE DARK PICS

SECONLDY CAME THE BASE COAT I WENT WITH A OEM TOYOTA SILVER 1E7 FROM A 07 TACOMA I REALLY LIKE HOW THAT SILVER LOOKS SO I DECIDED TO PAINT MY ENGINE BAY THAT AS WELL AS THE REST OF MY CAR ONCE I GET A CHANCE. I PURCHASED THE PAINT FROM AUTOMOTIVE TOUCH-UP I ONLY BOUGHT A PINT & IT WAS PLENTY I SPRAYED 2 THICK COATS...

I STILL NEED TO CLEARCOAT/WETSAND/BUFF, BUT IM CURRENTLY HAPPY WITH THE OUTCOME FOR MY FIRST TIME DOING ANY OF THIS ESPECIALLY SPRAYING BUT IVE SEEN MUCH WORSE FROM STARTERS

ALSO HAVNT REALLY GOT ANY PARTS FOR THE 1J SINCE ITS 95% COMPLETE BUT I DID FINALLY PURCHASE MY SARD LOW TEMP THERMOSTAT FROM RHD JAPAN, PRETTY AWESOME QUALITY ITEM IF YOU ASK ME

Thats pretty much it for right now still need a handful of things for start up but can finally say im pretty close!
