The fact that S15's are selling for $30k here is ridiculous. As many faults as the BRZ has, there's no way I'd buy a 17 year old S15 over a new BRZ.

Retro Honda EV coupe concept debuting in Tokyo. Wondering if this is an EV S2000??? Looks nice. Long hood and wide rear fenders. And none of the vents on vents on vents like the new Civic.

"Works perfectly"? Really? It's fine and gets the job done, but saying it works perfectly is a stretch even ignoring the fact that there is no suspension that works perfectly.

Well to play devil's advocate.

Over the BRZ the S15 is
-factory boosted with easily modified engine
-rare
-uniquely RHD
-cult following

Just the fact that it is RHD will turn heads in most places. Styling aside as that is subjective, every other part of the car pales in comparison to the BRZ.

At the same power levels the BRZ stomps all over the S15.

Picked mine up for 17k with 75k miles and in great condition, steering wheel was chewed up but that's about it. Clean body with no rust, engine ran perfectly

I love the S15 but I have zero interest in owning a RHD car in a LHD country. Even at $15k, there are a bunch of cars I'd pick over it.

Now find me a LHD S15 at that price and I'd break all kinda laws to get my hands on it.

How the hell are s15's legally obtainable? I thought every japanese car fell under the 25y law.
Choosing from a 15k frs and a 15k legal s15 would be a though decision.
Either way, I have decided to go back in time and get me a classic for my next project. I think I have had it with so much cheap and fragile materials on modern cars. The way things are going, if I ever get a newer car it would probably be an frs, and nothing newer.

FRS/BRZ pricing has become super reasonable lately, I was able to pick up an immaculate fully loaded 2013 BRZ with 80k miles for 13k. I've put about 5k on it since I picked it up and its been the best daily I've ever owned. I get a consistent 31mpg and it actually has a usable trunk unlike the s2000 that was my previous daily. Its not super fast but I've taken it to a couple track days and really don't find it to be severely lacking in power, it actually holds its own against most cars pretty well. Mine came with the optional dealer installed STI aero and suspension package and I don't really feel any need to modify it beyond that. I do of course run RPF1s with sticky tires and up-rated brake pads for track days but the price of admission is pretty damn low compared to what I've put into my 240 haha.

Its basically just a lip kit. There's a front lip, sideskirts, rear spats and a small diffuser under the rear bumper. I'm sure none of it actually does anything aerodynamically but really I dig the look and its kinda pricey so having it already installed was a bonus for me.

Here's what it looks like on mine:

Is that a Spec R or Spec S? That is a clean car.

Spec R > BRZ any day of the year.

I am taking a FiST over a BRZ drive the two cars then decide. The power and upgradable features inherit in the FiST are awesome and the fire sale prices Ford is offering on them are incredible under 20k out the door on base model FiST's Recaro package cars for just over.
Plus the car drives like a RWD even though it's FWD. Like the idea and look of the FRS/BRZ but it fails miserably in engine department.
They could have done it right but failed. On the other hand the FiST is awesome right out of the box and the ability to tweak it into monster status is cool. Drives like a fricken shifter Go Kart. Sleeper of the century.

Oh and on the S15 , always loved the car but dammit RHD on left hand drive roads sucks. So therefor never mind.

Every car is somewhat derivative at that point. The fact is, Volvo’s design language is almost universally applauded for their design language. Everything they release right now is gold.

Hmm I could take that negatively but dammit Fiesta's are badass.

Though beyond being a fan of the car Corbic and I are far different. Plus no one can deny BRZ's are horrendously underpowered due to lack of TQ.

Oh and truthfully fact is Fords on it when it comes to Turbocharged cars right now.

So much THIS. Just think of ALL the junkyard swaps 10 years from now.

The LSx's days are numbered.

Are you trying to imply that the engines will be shot? Outside of the RS which Ford pushed to the limits without putting in metal head gaskets among other things, the rest of the line is pretty much great.

The Ecoboost stang engines are not blowing up FoST and FiST are not either. Also these engines are not that expensive already. You can already pick up low mileage ones for 1k and sometimes less. Hell the 1.6 FiST engine is a powerhouse capable of 300 whp and 300 Ft LB's TQ with a Turbo upgrade from Mountune for $1700. Just imagine what you can do wth FoST engines which are 250 HP 2 liters stock! FoST owners are cresting 300/300 easily on stock internals.

I do love my 6 cylinder engines but these Ecoboost engines are nice.

^^^Lets also not forget that some dealers are pushing Ecoboost Stangs off the lot tuned to 550hp for just another dealer financed $6k...

And of course, its not an Ecoboost, but the Coyote has a dealer optional Roush supercharger upgrade to 727hp for just $6k or $7k, including warranty.

I haven't seen much evidence that the engines are junk at all. Hell, just saw a video of a Ecoboost F150 destroying a Hellcat...
