Going to change my head gasket. Is it necessary to take the intake manifold since it seems to be a bitch to get off? 91 hatch. If I must take it off is there any secrets to getting that sucker off?

I actually use 'parts store' Halogens in my high beams, and have it wired to keep the HID's on when the high's are on as well. It makes for a fantastic amount of light range with the HID's and the Halogen high beams...dare I say better than a set of KC Daylighters!

If the car is stock, time it as stock. Advancing the cam a few degrees...15* to 17-18* will require better fuel than 87 (which if you can't afford 93 for your tank on a regular basis, you're in the wrong hobby it's only another dollar or so more a fill up total) but yield some top end power (5whp maybe)

You don't need to take the intake at all. However the trick is to remove it in two pieces

I just use OEM Nissan P/S fluid. Pricey, but I know it won't kill my pump.

Stock S14 SR

Consequences to removing the heat shield on the exhaust manifold?

Mine rattles like death and I can't figure out how to stop it. No bolts are missing and we tried bending it away from the manifold a little to see if that would help, but no success.

i think the new stuff is different than Dexron II/III

I've been using Valvoline dex-III atf and it seems to be fine. my rack eats fluid, or leaks, so idk

Seems to be working alright for me. Sure looks and smells like ATF. I'll look into the Valvoline stuff, but from the Nissan fluid it seems like my pump is working a little smoother. I dunno. Best advice I can give is honestly just research. See what others are using and what's working best for most people.

Okay, maybe I'm retarded or something... But I've been searching ALL morning and can't find the how-to step by step thread on how to convert my zenki s14 into a kouki.... I've searched here and nico and can't come up with exactly what I'm looking for...

Can anyone link me to it? I'm def gonna bookmark it this time >_<

EDIT: I have all the parts, I'm mainly looking for directions on where to drill my zenki rad support to fit the kouki headlamps.

Did you try google?

this was my second result
s14 zenki to kouki conversion info - SFLDrifters.com

now according to that you dont have to drill your rad support but you do have to drill your headlight brackets. The easiest way to figure out where you want them is to mock everything up and then measure 50 times and drill once.
As soon as everything is on, save headlights for last. The add the lights and see where they need to be mounted.
Its really easy if you have a marker and a drill and drill bits.

would it be better to put lucas oil power steering fluid with conditioner in my power steering fluid reservoir or should i put the dexron III or whatever is the latest blend into it? I was told at autozone that the lucas oil would be better.

yeah it honestly doesn't make a massive amount of difference. it wont corrode or anything, like gl-4 vs gl-5 oil

viscosity is different so all that happens is seals might leak with PS fluid

Yeah. Like I said, seems like it's leaking less now. But enough thread cluttering.

a site for what?

Oh, no not yet I will be doing something along those lines VERY soon but I was just suggesting you hit up a member and have them send you one ass opposed to ordering a brand new one.

Besides the fact that you cant order them online from courtesy so you would have to call them, and shipping will be just as horrendous.
