^Normal wear from the throw out bearing pressing on the "fingers" or "teeth". If it's wearing through the fingers then you might have a problem with your throw out bearing.

Hey Zilvians!

Quick Noob question, I have a custom 2.5" catback with a 3" straight thru vibrant muffler. Will a 12"x2.5" straight thru vibrant resonator quiet it down significantly? Or what are the effects (ie. tone, rasp)? Thanks.

The previous owner cut out the wheel wells in my engine bay. I wanted to get those covered up before rain season comes. Is there a way to cover the wheel wells besides getting them welded??? Please lmk asap

Where's the best place to buy a battery from? Mine just died and I want to replace one for a low cost.

I have the battery relocation kit so it shouldnt matter what battery I get?

I was wondering if it's possible to have an offset of +10 front and +5 rears on an S14 with just stock camber kits? Tires would be 225/40f and 235/40r

Anything but duralast. Optima is great. I can't remember what my last battery was but it was stupid powerful. Lasted over 5 years till it finally gave up. I wish i could remember what it was its mounted in my trunk also.

It will help, but it's still going to be raspy and sound like crap. Put a muffler on it.

Like, the actual wheel wells? Yes you need to get new ones welded in, or have the front tubbed.

Did you follow the FSM in regard to troubleshooting?

Any exhaust modification will help.

Why not get a decent battery with a warranty? Carquest/Napa/Sears/ etc etc etc.

I'llnever understand cheaping out on batteries, brakes, or tires.

My comment wasn't really directed at the modification aspect of things, but in life in general with our shop. If I had a nickle for every customer that said 'get me the cheapest brakes you can, I don't need good ones I'm broke' I'd be a millionaire. Same can be said with tires and batteries. 'Just get me some Triangle brand tires, they'll be fine' and then in 6000 miles they are racing slicks.

LOL

I didnt mean mods specifically either.
Yes coils, but after working at a parts store I have seen it in every aspect of car ownership. People would rather buy the most expensive air freshener and cheapest actual car parts.

thanks for the feedback, i do have a muffler on it. the question was about adding a 12"x2.5" resonator to the combination. sorry, i shouldve been a bit more specific. but will it still get raspy with the resonator and muffler? thanks

^So the kit can be used on both s13 and s14 racks....the odd shaped bushing is the same for s13 and s14 racks but the diameter of the rack casing is different. S13s casing is slightly larger so it uses the slim bushing.

someone please tell me how to make my life easier and how to stab this back in without breaking anything

- Hire a friend (tempt them with reacharounds, hamburgers, or beer)

-Loosen the front cross member bolts to the point where it drops the engine a 1/2 to 3/4 an inch (as in, don't fully take the botls out, just leave them one nut length engaged

- One person get under the car and lay perpendicular with the car at the front of the trans, the other at the back

- Have the 'front man' get the trans up on their chest

-Spin the trans almost upside down at this point, and together (with the rear man) get the input shaft up into the pressure plate fingers, and then raise/push the rear up and in.

- It may take some jiggling, but get the trans to 'slide into' the pilot bearing, and then once it's in, spin the trans to the top is 'up' and then slide it it 100% onto the engine and into the dowel pins.

(If you get it close, you can also use the bolts to help 'pull' it in)

I know that may seem barbaric, but the key is having the trans upside down or rotated like, 120* from upright and then get it up in...if you don't you'll fight the trans tunnel.

(I'ts 849755% easier to show someone in person LOL)
