My excessive mounts fit very well as well. Part of the engine sits a little high and rubs with hood tho. I have s14

Xcessive Mounts are perfect on my S14, i even have their one piece driveshaft, couldnt have put the motor in a better position if i tried. i had to do ZERO modifications on anything

only issue is my Dmax hood touches the front of the spark plug cover, but thats because of the hood design, from what i understand, an OEM style hood wont rub

No real problems with Xccessive for me either. I cut my solid engine mounts down about 3/8" to get the engine as low as it possibly could(was prolly the ebay mounts error). Im about 1/4" or less clearnace now on the pwr steering rack.

I am having to modify the rear turbo drain line to work and having to loose the little exhaust bracket to the block . Anyone else have to do this and have a pic of the changes made? of course all the single turbo guys dont have this problem...

Possible that the 2JZ fits better in the S14 chassis? i noticed that you have no rad fan clearance issues like S13 owners do. Well, at least i dont see an cuts made on the rad support.

The spark plug cover hits up against my Dmax hood too

its VERY Close, i think alot of people try to run cheap fans that are pretty deep, im using the SPAL slim fans and i only have about 5-7mm of clearance.

also, the Xcessive mounts are different because S13's and S14's have a different angle on the crossmember where the motor mounts bolt, its only a degree or two difference, but it matters, i dont think alot of people realize this. they are the only mounts that accomodate for this.

I'm running Freed's setup with the cusco mounts they offer. The holes on the trans crossmember had to be massaged a little bit but that could be due to the stock trans mount I'm using. The hood closes fine, but it does make contact with the intake manifold and throttle body. Other than that its a guaranteed fit with no big issues.

^^^ With the Cusco Mounts how is the vibration? I'm using Xcessive engine brackets and DriftFreaq mounts and I want something a little bit more stiffer but not straight solid.

I have one in my s14.they have a newer version.fits great basiclly fills up the whole core support.I believe on the s13 some cutting is needed. My engine isn't running yet.but I don't think it will be a problem. Great looking product.

Is there a reason the 1JZ VVTI harnesses are never supported? I emailed Wiring Specialties and they said they don't offer the VVTI harness. I'm really not too nervous extending the harness and making it work in my S13, but I was happy to pay a professional to do this for me. The only thing I could imagine is the throttle by wire issue but I'm still not 100% clear which 1JZ VVTI's have this feature

Still waiting on a response from Freed Engineering, haven't tried my luck with Tech2 or Chase Bays as I saw some negative feedback on their harnesses earlier in this thread.

^^^ I assumed most just switched to a regular throttle cable setup. Beats me though.

*Stay away from Chase Bays.....stay...away....I still have their harness (sadly) and let me tell you this. o2 sesnor wiring was wrong, tps wrong (missing wire), IACV doesn't work (due to needing relay...and wiring), pins in wrong spots, etc. I emailed them about every prob.....sent it in for repair, got it back, still the same. So I repined everything myself lol.

Damn, not what I wanted to hear. I asked Wiring Specialties exactly why they aren't supported and I got a detailed response of "They are very different." ..

Unfortunatly they told me the same wheb i asked about a harness for my girlfriends fc rx7 to 1jz vvti. I even offered to tow the car to them and let them make the harness they could even mass produce it after that but they had no interest i believe tweakd makes the harnesses though were going with them.
+1 on which vvti 1js dont work w throttle cable lol

I think if it says ETCS-I rather than just ETCS, is a drive-by-wire. I know for a fact that JZX110 came with this and some other cars that you can research. Mine came from a JZX100 and it just says ETCS and it uses a throttle cable. I had Freed engineering did my harness and no problems. IDK if theyre still converting harnesses though. Hope this helps.
