I'm running a Bosch 044 on the sending unit. As for fuel lines, I'm running mostly Gates Barricade fuel injection hose with either push lock fittings or hose barb to AN adapter fittings. It's really good fuel hose and you can get 25 ft for $40 on ebay.

Meant to post this in here but accidentally posted in 1jz thread (although probably more relevant there):

Installed this 1jz vvti Tomei arms 8280 turbo kit today:

Haven't run it yet obviously because I'm still completing my build, but the turbo seems like a nice piece and the kit itself fit flawlessly. For others reference, I figured I'd share this torque spec sheet included in the instructions (note that these are in n*M):

any problems with getting 3/8" fuel line to tighen up and make a good seal on the sending unit? i ask cause isnt the sender like 5/16"

i would really like to flare those connections but i dont know if they will flare without splitting

Yes the 3/8" slides over easily, but as long as you use some quality hose clamps that can get tight without turning into butter it works just fine. Spending a few extra dollars on quality clamps like ABA or Vibrant has made life a lot easier for me.

Anyone managed to get an NV3550, AX15, AR5, or MA5 transmission to work in their 2jz swap? Just curious.

Quick question for you guys since im about to pull the trigger on an auto vvti 1jz motor set, r154's are pretty hard to find around here so going with a cd009, i know with the r154 people use the stock pressure plate so they dont cause crankwalk on the motor, what about he 350z transmission? which pressure plate would you guys recommend would be safe?

Something with a clamping force under 3200lbs seems to be the trick with JZ crank walk. But I think that crank walk only seems to effect 2jz, haven't seen any 1jz crank walk cases.

yeah most of the cases i see are in supra's where they have the clutch safety switch active still. I will keep 3200 in mind.

I have a cd005 trans with the collins adapter . Plan on using this clutch. Need to call them about clamping force. 6 puck DXD disc.

Definitely let us know what southbend says about their pressure plate. How do you like the collins adapter? im thinking either that or the mavrick motorsports one.

Im going to "hotwire" the neutral/safety. Start the car in neutral without pushing the clutch and get in a habit of sitting in the staging line with the car in neutral and foot off the clutch pedal

What chassis are you using, i figured the saftey switch was only relevant on SC/Supra and not s chassis? i could be wrong.

Idk yet. lol. adapter kit will be here next week. Brett said they finishing up a new batch of flywheels today and will ship monday.

But, its $100 bucks less. Comes with all the hardware. And...with the newest version flywheel, the trans doesnt need to be milled now.

im working with a guy and fabbing up a shifter setup to bring it back to stock s13 chassis and retain a reverse lock out. shifter will sit a little higher, but who cares, its a track car

Nice, should be sweet i love how that trans feels. Past few days was the first time i heard about these "crankwalk" issues people were having granted most of them are high power builds. Definitely something to take care off before you're out an engine.

How was the fitment of the motor?

Hood clearance?

Oil pan low?

Motor angles to one side?

Has any one done the 350z trans? Is there a cheaper alternative then going with an off the shelf kit? Seems so expensive and since I already have the trans since the 2j is going in the Z I figured why not.

a lot of people run the Z trans on Jz's and Sr's out here. Really no cheaper route, you need that adapter plate and the custom flywheel.

Not engine related, but for with the peeps who is running 2jz in their S13 and have been driving it for a while now. What spring rates do you run and how does it ride? Stiff or soft? How does it feel on track and daily? I'm looking to purchase some coilovers this coming black friday or cyber monday and I'm looking to do a 2jz swap by next year hopefully.

I run bc br coils 6k 8k and it feels just fine. I honestly don't notice much of a difference from going from my sr to the 2j.

So I only have about 2.5 inches in between the belt and my radiator. I dont think they make any fans with shrouds that fit in there. Might try to run pushers instead.

Thoughts?

I'm running Stance SS with 10k/6k spring rates and I couldn't be happier. I've owned lots of the mid range coilovers(tein, cusco, ksport, pbm, fortune) and I feel that Stance outperforms them all. I haven't driven on BCs but I hear good things about them. My old rb25 car with 8k would understeer badly until I put 10k rates up front. That was a daily/drift car with occasional passes in the twisties.

These are 2" in thickness total

a shroud helps but you dont need it as long as you have a good radiator and fans with a high cfm, attach the fans to the radiator with the included plastic through-ties

Flex a lite 410/420 fans SHOULD fit. https://www.flex-a-lite.com/electric...ctric-fan.html Might need to notch or massage the core support to get a bit of extra clearance, I've used these fans and they are GREAT! i'm also a FAL dealer and can help you with prices.

Might have to look into those.

I have a koyo dual pass radiator for an sr right now. I think that should be good enough if i can fit some decent fans in there.

Im hoping i dont have to modify the core support too much.

It would be nice to not have to cut into it.

I think you could run those flexalites as pushers. That's what I'm considering. I'm also considering the chasebays radiator to get some extra room.
