I was able to bolt the trans up with a single bolt on each side with the engine set at the furthest point on the Collins mounts.
Anyway, fuck this day. Get everything all set up, put fuel in the tank. Started go over wiring. Smell fuel. Oh, my fuel tank has a 1.5 inch long crack in it. Bought some stuff to patch it. Should work out..... Next weekend.

Looks good^^
When bolting on a KA trans to the adapter plate has anyone had the problem of the trans bolts almost stripping due the adapter plate? I was hooking up the transmission and the bolts just seemed very tough to screw in and 2 top bolts had metal shavings and hot to the touch. I was thinking to just purchase a full set of new transmission bolts because maybe the bolts were just old and brittle. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Do you guys run a dust cover? Kinda sketches me out being able to see that much into the trans/flywheel.

Getting close on the build. Waiting for new ignition coils and modules to come in. Also waiting for my tundra headers so they can get knocked out. Driveshaft should be picked up tomorrow. Right now it's kinda at a stand still and playing the waiting game ha. I expect everything to come together around Tuesday or Wednesday

Dudes can a serpentine belt be too tight? If theres minimal difference between turned all the way down to release belt and providing tension on the belt, is it bad for the tensioner?

Part number for it. You can order it from lexusparts for about $70 shipped. Or use the part number on eBay, maybe someone has one. I had to buy this same item last week. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Thanks fries! Already found the part number and got it taken care of like an hour after posting in here though haha! I'm sure that number can be of use for someone in the future.

So I have been told to go with the 6PK1630 Serpentine Belt for AC delete and I have not installed it yet. But I did find this in a celica 1uz build.
"A/C removal: If you remove the A/C along the way you will need this strap: Dayco p/n 5060635" I hope my 1630 will be long enough.

The pigtails on my harness are so jacked and so are the some of the plugs on the motor.
Option 1: replace whole harness but new sensors. Option 2: fix pigtails and buy new sensors. Option 3: Build a standalone harness like MS or Autronics or Adaptronics. |

A little update to the serpentine belt assurance.
6pk1615 does fit very well if you are delete the AC compressor.

Car is finally rolling! Couldn't thank my friend Robert enough. Still need to work out small things but we got to move the car under it's own power and have some fun in it before the grimlins started popping up. The mr2 electric power steering feels great but it drains everything out of my old battery. Also gonna need to find what amp fuse I need for starter signal. Very fun day yesterday though.

Well this was my day. Reinstalled fuel tank. Wet weld didnt even begin to hold the crack. Probably my fault though. Word of advice, if youre gonna drop the s14 tank even a little, take out the subframe and NEVER jack the tank even a little. They are super prone to cracking on the front passenger side where the strap connects.
So I dropped the subframe. Notice the subframe was moving at the front bushings... Oh theyre torn a little. Nope theyre torn alot, I was able to just pull that sleeve out with literally zero effort. So yeah, removed dem and purchased some PBM subframe risers. Cracked fuel tank. Used "some" epoxy. Same stuff that was used to seal my upper oil pan that cracked. Rated at something like 1,200 PSI er some crap. So in a few hours I'll see if this shit works or if I'll be buying another tank this week. Shout out to Zenkiset for getting his motor running!

any of you with completed swaps have issues with the clutches being prematurely worn? like you take em out and theyve been getting eaten down at the edges?

Alright bros. After some modifications to the shroud, I got my Isis fans and shroud installed this weekend with the hopes that it would fix my cooling problems. Car gets up to 180-degrees and I turn on the fans, it sits there for a while, but after about 5-10 minutes the temps start to rise. These fans move some SERIOUS air, so I cannot imagine that is the problem any longer.
Before I started the car, I opened up the radiator to check the water level... still good. Either there's air trapped in the system, or my radiator is just not adequate. Anybody here have a water temp gauge and can confirm the normal operating range of the 1UZ?

That's where I have it. I was just making sure I didn't do something wrong. I have to run a remote mount under the rad support. My koyo won't fit with the hoses

News: SOHC powersteering lines bolt up to this swap. NO mods needed!
Miamiz33: Not trying to sound condescending here, but have you tried burping the system? There may just be a good amount of air in the system. There is a cool little bolt for doing that right above the thermo housing. Rad cap can be junk and not holding pressure as well. Hope you get that issue sorted out.
