I have finally made a "jig" to cut collectors that is easy to replicate cuts. I've taken many ideas from others, made some modifications and this is my version 2.0

Just test cuts on sched 40 1.5'' pvc

I have found with a good blade and cutting fluid it does an OK job just have to go slow. I plan to work mostly with sch40 steel for manifolds so I'm not too concerned.

Mine also had a faulty motor and vibrated more than Michael J. Fox.
So that didn't help at all.

Hahaha. I looked back and saw you went to the much larger craftex. How is it working out so far? I think I'll have to upgrade to that sometime in the next year.

But here is the result from the "jig" I made.

I found that even sch10 was just to much for the little 1/2" blade and 1/3hp motor they come with.

And the stand it came with was pretty flimsy to say the least lol.

Although I'm convinced I just bought a lemon.

I reccomend buying their coolant. Mixing some up and just get a squirt or oil pump can/bottle.
Their coolant is pretty good. Except it looks like barf when you first start mixing it... Smells like it too

I have been shortening the charge pipes, to hopefully help with some boost response, while I had the motor out and finished the tubs. It's still going to be front mount but this should take a couple feet out of the system. I didn't move it mid-mount because I just don't like the look of my car without a front mount. I sheared up these 1/8" end caps and TIG welded them into place. It's a VSPL core and its not too beat up, so I figured I would just modify it.

Before:

After - in progress: (kinda a shity night shot)

and shoot them straight through here; once I cut some out of the core.

This is the direction I'm going in

after welding; still need to check the fittings

I'm getting a little bit better but I just don't weld that often. The Miller Syncrowave I use at work really helps tho. Embarrassing next to the GReddy welds.

And I just finished the tubs too.

Did some modification to the front fenders for tire clearance when i dump the front.

.... 9 bucks for some 20 gauge tin sheers at lowes (cut without any resistance)... and aa hammer. If you are going to do this... make sure you do it to fenders with paint on them so you can block sand the ridge to even out any dimpling. I am repainting the fenders obviously so i could be pretty aggressive with the hammer.

I contemplated many ways to roll the front fenders. This way makes me feel the most comfortable regarding tire clearance since it basically folds the lip upwards to make the fender arch nearly paper thin. Looks bad from the back, but good from the outside.

I sanded the arch down and spray painted them to protect the exposed steel as well as look for any imperfections from the outside.

Why didn't you just buy a soft body hammer and a heat gun and hammer the lip down? It moves really easy and comes out super smooth and will not mess your paint up.

I did not figure that i could pound the fender without taking the arch out of uniform round. I have another pair of fenders, I may try that if I have the time to mess with it. I sprayed the arch after sanding it down and it looks "true" from the outside. Also, the inside was folded in so far, it almost inverts itself. I do not believe that I will run into any problems with the tire hitting the segmented pieces. They are tucked up in there pretty well. If i do run into problems I will "re-do" them on my spare pair.

And to Tearlessj, my brother-in-law works at an aeronautical engineering company (Sikorsy) and has access to these machines. I will ask him how long it would be to manufacture (cut) something.

Been busy lately working on a roll cage for a Jeep. Main hoop was constructed out of 2" x .120" and the rest of the cage was made out of 1.75" x .120". It's pretty nice how the roof just lifts off, made my job just alittle easier
