Anyone busy this weekend?, I have a click no start issue. looking for another set of eyes. battery is less than 24hours old, 12 volts at starter, connection going to starter not loose at all. Everything worked fine after I installed fans, came back 45 minutes later and clicky no start. Fuses are good. I'm stumped s14 SR if it helps

..............
You should really get new ones. I went with stock SR20's cause of my exhaust manifold. If your balling ARP sells exhaust manifold studs or u can order stockers for 1.20 each.

They can still break when you have the new manifold on the car. I had my head off when I took all mine out since I had to install valve springs anyway.

What's up guys! For those of you who PM me, I didn't organize a meet this month or last month because I've been in and out of town for work and traveling a bit. Hopefully we can get something going next month. I didn't get a chance to read back, but looks like some of the original High Desert faces are back? Some new ones too? Andy, Dino, Josh, Johnny..... looks like you guys stepped it up with your cars? Looking forward to seeing/hearing it at the next meet

Just cause it popped out and spun doesn't mean the starter is good...
Check the positive cable for corrosion... It's pretty common that the positive cable will get so nasty it wont supply the starter with all the juice it needs. Thats really the only way for it to click in the car and still be good. You can have nasty acid and shit down underneath the insulation and the big wire on the positive cable goes straight to the starter. Other than that you can force power to the signal wire and jump the starter... Try hitting it with a hammer while your attempting to jump it with a spare set of hands. These things will make it obvious it's the starter but from the sound of it I would say it's your starter... There is a big difference between the starter trying to spin out of the car and the amount of load the engine will put on the starter... |

so I pulled my ecu for fun, and some of the things inside are black and cracked open. Mt guess this is the culprit. I also took the starter to a elecetric shop and they tested it as fine. I have a Jimwolfe setup, I just need some 740's. Anyone have any for sale?

when batteries go dead the car makes a clicking sound when you try and start it so I bet it's something to do with the starter not getting enough volts or amps to spin the engine. Like cfinch said check your connections(positive wire, ground wires) I would take off the wire going to the starter and see how many volts/amps are coming from it when you start it....starters use a ton of amps like 300ish?
