Kevin Edgar's SR powered S13 coupe *quality pics*
I always wanted a 240sx coupe and on the day after high school grad (6/19/11) I bought my dream car for $1,000 from my friends dad. It was everything I wanted, '93 black coupe, dual cam, 5 speed. It had a burnt clutch but that didn't stop me from taking it everywhere while the clutch was still able to grab. Clutch ended up giving out on me and I bought a ACT 6 Puck and installed it with helping hands through other forums.
This is how it looked when I first got it June 19, 2011 Like any early nineties car it had body damage but I still loved it. Also, at this time I was making minimum wage working at Togo's. I went for a leisurely cruise in the mountains and understeered into the side of the mountain just scratching the body a little, snapped tension rod, and bent lca. Next day went to Pick N Pull and was fixed. Since I didn't have money for real mods I did what any teenager would do. Fluorescent pink wheel, ebay coilovers, and a welded diff. Please excuse the ricerness. Then I had the stupidest idea to this day... plastidip... I don't even know why I did this. Looked like a sorry knock off of knight rider Then I left for the Air Force (Nov '11) and bought some stupid baby enkeis, m2 exhaust and my friend got me dmax tails. Then I had the dumb a stupid idea to buy a silvia front (truly regret it) Apr '12 Bought some PBM coilovers and maxxxxxed em out (not so fun on 15s but looked cool) Took my car to the skidpad and pretty much killed it, nobody believed it was my first time. Jun '12 Bought PBM links and went 5 lug Took off plastidip, got Z wheels and bricks. Put some spacers up front and took pics on base Took my car to the skidpad again and killed it Nov '12 Then I wanted to run a VH45, realized I was an idiot, sold it. Had my friend (Mike Yee) install a 3rd brake light Sold my Z wheels and got se's Spun a bearing Jan '13 and waited for my tax return to come in Bought a S13 SR + parts off my friend. Got a BN sports rep kit and 30mm origin fenders. Deployed and bought Advan AVS model t6 18x9 +22 18x10 +25, 326 power wing rep, 25 origin fenders, and ganadors. Got a good deal on a S14 SR w/t28 then sold my S13 SR. July '13 Prepped for pull (bought that '07 zx6r day after my deployment lol) KA out (trip to ER cause I cut my arm open, idk how, whoops) Installed ACT 6 Puck clutch and tomei manifold SR in, picked up aluminum motor mounts nearby Got some rubber for the wheels Fired up the car and to celebrate I mounted the stuff and took pics. Sep '13 First drive, then mounted wing and overs. Raised the car and got it aligned Wanted my car red so took it to maaco. Got the car back day before skidpad ( shakedown purpose ) event Playing with the Bee-r Me pretending I was in Japan lol Picked up a Bride seat with rails from a friend. Have a cage just waiting to install it. Build is not done but I guess it's turning out decent. Enjoy more updates to come! Last edited by KevinEdgar; 02-20-2014 at 01:17 PM.. |

Thanks all! I regret the silvia front because at the time I could have made a better purchase than just throwing my money around. I guess it's one of those things you learn and move on. At the time I also didn't realize how awesome onevias were. Oh well

That would be nice but I've got other priorities right now. But onevia may be a possibility in the future.
So many words so I must post a picture! My girl took this on her phone and I really like it. Old silly Canon T1i usually with a 50mm or 8mm fisheye and my iphone |

Hmm, your username just seemed very familiar
Thanks man, appreciate it! I only had it on my car running during the video. My car started running a little weird(ended up being cas) right before my event and in the process of troubleshooting I removed it. I've read mixed reviews about it. For the most part I guess excessively popping off the limiter and higher rpms will cause valve float which damages the head. But I guess tomei ras can help make the problem go away. |

the correct fix is stiffer springs and a good cam
RAS prevent the rockers from flying off then they just shatter and break apart senting little bits of metal inside your engine durring valve float |

NO. The correct fix is dual rocker arm guides. RAS are pointless and a waste of money that only make the problem worse by breaking the rocker arms.
On topic, what's the deal with your sunroof? I've never seen a coupe sunroof that opens up OUT of the car like that. I have an 89 with power sunroof and when it did work it just went down and into the roof. |

Idk dude that's how I got the car, the car was bone stock and I don't think the previous owners would have had a custom sunroof installed. Car is originally from Washington if that matters. People have questioned my sunroof but as far as I know it's stock? Factory upgrade for 93s maybe?

Sweeeeeeet car man and awesome pics! Question, how did you wire up that S14 SR into your car? Did you just use a Wiring Specialtists harness and plug-n-play?
I am strongly considering S14 SR myself which is why I am curious lol. |

My bash bar should be coming in this week so I will hopefully be finally mounting my front bumper this weekend.
On a side note, I picked up a new daily and holy shit. This car is too much fun. |

Maaco paint job is holding up fine. My car is always garaged so I don't know how it would hold up with the elements.
Thanks man, everything is stock so whatever stock s14 boost is. Spool probably sounds better because of the tomei manifold. |
