Update for everyone.
Engine starts, runs, and idles great. I've been running through the car fixing leaks, however. The heater hose pipe leaked, but is fixed. Next, apparently the oil drain gasket on the turbo broke, and leaked oil all over the manifold. I am going to re-make the -10 drain line with new gaskets and AN fittings. Only concern remaining is confirmed seal of the headgasket. Now, when we first started the engine, there was considerable white smoke exiting from the exhaust. - Ran the car for about 10 minutes achieving about 140 degrees, slightly milky oil cap. - Drained the oil with surprisingly almost no water/coolant in the oil. - Fresh oil, started again, ran for 15 minutes achieving nearly 170 degrees. Once the oil leaks are 100% fixed, I'll have a much more accurate confirmation of a proper headgasket seal. I will be back in town in about a week to work on the car again. - Alex |
