KSport Air suspension
I'm looking at getting this coilover/air bag setup for my S14.
I've found a couple good write-ups of installs of this product and initial impressions are very good. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this product and can shed some light on performance and durability over time. If you are not familiar with this product or are interested check out this link installed on a 240sx; NICO Project 240sx Part 10 KSport Air Bag Suspension Installation Also would there be a way to increase stiffness at low settings when the bags are at low pressure or will it always be quite soft when dumped low. I'm looking for something that performs similar to a coilover but would like to have ride height adjustability for ferry loading/unloading here in Vancouver. Otherwise my car has to be higher than ideal and I look like a dork! Any thoughts/experiences are appreciated, thanks. |

its better to get an Air cup like ^^ posted.
performs like a coilover, but can be raised in a pinch. cant drive it raised for long though, cuz its not meant for that.

on a slammed car it would be nice to get over speed bumps, my silvia isnt nearly as low as some 240's I've had but still has a hard time getting over speed bumps and not getting stuck, if they werent so much $ and I didnt already have bomb ass coilovers I'd buy em myself.

^agreed, my driveway alone has a steep dip on it.
and NY roads are fierce... being able to raise is a blessing. - k-sport doesn't have a 'great' rep, - the air force products look good tho. |

I was actually doing my research on these. They gave me a partial sponsorship. I just want to make sure these are legit. In the meantime, Shin the owner of AirRunner is looking into making a set for our s14. He will get back to me in the next few days.

The air cup option definitely looks like the way to go. Basically just a coilover but allows for ride height adjustability for slow speed bumpy manoevering. Perfect for Super Low set-ups while not destroying your car.
Anyone have any of these things; Roberuta, AirForce Etc. ??? Preferably a reasonably priced set that is specific for S14 or just the cup part that will be compatible with my coilovers. |

I had cups on my s15 and I loved them
The car went up and down about 2 inches. I had them on Fortune Auto coilovers with Umbrella cups. Only thing is that they are a tad pricey for the umbrella setup. Basically I had to run a shorter H&R spring to compensate for the size of the cups Here are some pics ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() they were on this car ![]() ![]() |

Just to throw this out there
If you get air cups do not even think about driving on them raised for any extended period of time. When the are at full up they compress the spring essentialy jacking up your preload and spring rates. If you have a car with 10k springs it will feel like 25k....its crazy. But to get over bumps and ramps its great. And when they are full down its like they are not even there. However if you do not care much bout handeling I would go with an airsetup just because it does give you more flexibility. But if you drift or drive aggressively the cups are the way to go. |

[quote=kalypso123;3094293 k-sport doesn't have a 'great' rep, [/quote]
Is that actual 1st hand knowledge,or based on the ol' telephone game.."this guy said that this guy i know.." type deal? I'm not beatin on you,..just I've owned 4 sets of K-sports and not 1 single issue with them.DAILY Driving..which to me is about as harsh,if not more than Smooth Track Transistions. my old EVO,my 1st S13 hatch,S14 and Current S13 hatch project. yeah sure they're made in "Indo-ChinThaiCherynobl", but Have done me well.I'll hopefully get a Chance to Beat on them Drifting to have 1st hand of that part shortly. Id be willing to give these a shot if I had a Nice enough car w/ Extremly $$ Aero...and maybe will 1 day when my S14 gets to Baller Status. Shit is Def Pimp.

I saw that Airforce suspension kit, they use cheap quality materials. You can check out Platinum Vip's Phantom Cup Kit.
Heres a review thread on Freshalloy. Hit them up (626) 472-7847 ask for Kennedy if you have any questions. Also, Here is the tank that they run ![]() Something like 2.5"x14"x5" Last edited by Manhitbytran; 10-23-2009 at 01:18 PM.. Reason: Added picture |

Doesn't the S15 suspension bolt right up to a S14?... Airrunner already has a kit made for a S15 so I dunno how much r&D they need to make one for the S14. I looked into it and it seems really pricey for what you get. Doesn't even come with electronic valves.
I have the D2 air ride on my S14, pretty much same thing as KSport. Its not bad. When the roads are smooth it rides great... When theres bumps I definitely feel them. All in all my Stance coilovers were a lot nicer of a ride but theres no way I could daily drive my car that low. I wouldn't even be able to get into my apartment complex or the parking lot of my work w/o scraping or getting high centered. I like the option of raising it and lowring it with a flip of a switch. If your really serious about gettingthem I'm planning on selling my car soon. I might be willing to either straight up sell my kit or trade for your suspension plus cash. I also have a custom center console made to house the switches and gauge. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

dubbrand - so in your opinion is it worth doing the d2 air ride?? or is it better you think to wait for something better, or opt to go with the "air cylinders" from airforce??

Also I've never had a set of D2 or KSport and any other similar brands. I don't know if my air ride rides the same as their coilovers. The last two coilover setups I had were Apexi N1 and Stance. If I could get by daily driving my car slammed with those I would but where I have to drive everyday there's no way I can be as low as I want. I guess if your wanting the best ride quality possible, it'll be a really nice set of coilovers or a really expensive ar ride setup. If you can live with a stiffer setup and want to be able to raise and lower your car with a switch, D2 or similar would be just fine. Again I'm just going off of personal experience with my setups. |
