Been seeing a lot of Pulsar GTIRs in the US...
How are these people registering them legally in the US? I've seen a few in the southwest all registered in their respective states. I havn't had a chance to talk to the owners asking what they are doing, i'm curious if anyone here knows?
The rule is, to put it short, that if the manufacture date of that specific car is not before 25 years you cannot register the car. This is federal law. What are they doing getting Sentra VINs and bolting them to the car or something? I see them for sale on occasion but their prices are around double of what they were when I was in Japan or Canada so I just assume there is some nonsense going on. |

Shipped in as parts cars, put back together and registered in states that dont care how they're imported using the JDM vins. States dont have any clue nor care if they're not federally legal, they just want the registration money.

This is the only grey market car violating the 25 year import rule I ever see, and i'm seeing them all over all of a sudden. When I was in Canada you could pick these up for less than http://www.rctophobby.com/rc-helicop...rand/foda.html almost anywhere. That would be a great fun car for that kind of money.
