Driveshaft Wont Fit??

I have an sr20 with a j30 diff and ive been using a non abs driveshaft for the year no problem. I recently replaced the trans with a KA trans and installed an ACT clutch kit. For some reason I cant fit my driveshaft back on. It seems to be a bit too long, I don't understand why since the ka trans is the same length.

Ive tried loosening the diff and unbolting the trans subframe. Any input would be appreciated

Get a hammer and flathead screwdriver and knock the dust shield off the back of the trans. It's the sheetmetal ring that's pressed onto the output housing. You CANNOT run a NON-ABS driveshaft with an ABS diff unless you remove that shield. Your old trans might not have had one already.

Ran across this thread and it's great info to have.
This may be a stupid question but if you still have working abs does swapping to a non abs driveshaft affect the abs working correctly?

Cool that's what I thought but wanted to make sure. It so much easier to find a non abs driveshaft around here than an abs one. Lol
