Silvia and skyline sub frame questions
Hey everyone.
I am trying to collect information on subframes for the Silvia and the skyline. Any and all information that anyone knows will be of help I am trying to collect some information. So far the easiest and ones I am sure are right are: - S13 and s14 rear subframes are interchangeable due to mount locations. -I am sure I read somewhere the same with r32 and s13 rear subframes being interchangeable. -The s13 and s14 front subframes are interchangeable in bolt pattern. The information I am looking for is mounting location not substituting actual parts, I know it's possible, just tying to see what is mountable to what. Also not sure about the mounting points between different skyline models (r32, r33, r34) rear subframes Being different or they will all mount to each other? Anyone have information on the different skyline front subframes mount interchangeably with each other? Any other this kind of information would be helpful. Even if anyone has information about cross model interchangeably would be useful. |

I didn't read it all but I have done R32 and R33.
My R33 GTS25T is a hicas model. So I am using a S15 same bolt pattern as S14 subframe, with S-Chassis SPL toe arms and pushed the hicas ball joints from the rear knuckles and uses S-Chassis bushings (same a Z32, and non hicas R32,33,34) For the R32 GTR I used a S14 subframe but had to use the S14 into S13 offset bushings. The S13 subframe is direct fit, but the diff mounting on the GTR is the same as S14 and I didnt want to switch to the low capacity diff cover. R32 GTST you can use a S13 subframe, direct fit but you need to convert the rear knuckles to bushings aka pressout the hicas ball joint. Or run S13/S14 knuckes. Same for R33 using S14/15 sub |

If your talking engine crossmember. you can bolt a S13/S14 engine crossmember into R32 GTS ,GTST just not GTR.
Same for R33 GTS/GTST and R34 GT and GTT. aka if you want to LSX swap a non GTR you can buy a swap kit for a S chassis. S13 for 32, 14 for 33 |

GTR and non GTR are wider spaced in the front. R32 has a different set up all together with inner and outer lower ball joints in the front, and the tension rod mounting is much different. A non GTR engine crossmember wont fit a gtr and vice versa. Google pics to see what I mean.
If your looking to 26 swap a GTST you bolt the block arms on to the 26 block and mod the oil pan to get rid of the transfer case (google images) |

When you say wider spaced,
Do you mean the bolt holes that mount to the rails or the width of the member itself. I have been considering different swaps. As of right now I am manly looking for info that is difficult to find unless talking to someone with experience. Like what you are helping me ubderstand. I like to be well informed before making decisions. |

FYI full race mounted a gtr front subframe, rb26, and AWD system into an S14 years ago. It CAN be done. But it's not a direct bolt on.
@OutToWinPAHC According to your info, an R32 GTR rear subframe should bolt up into an S13 using s14 offset swap bushings? Since you used those to put a 14 subframe in the 32 gtr. |
