s13 HUD Problems

I have a 89 240sx with the HUD. It works but both the speedo and HUD read 0 all the time. I was wondering which sensor controls the speedo and if the trans from a 92 240sx without the HUD will be any different.

the transmissions are pretty much all the same....so you could use the 92 tranny without any major mods. I guess i would pull the cluster out and check all the wire connections. Sounds like you're getting power to the HUD/speedo, but the signal isn't there. Signal comes from the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) that's a little gear on a shaft stuck into the transmission
