basically set the motor tdc actually did the springs and retainer 2 it was a nailbiter but it was pretty easy 4 the most part . ok i tore it down at tdc installed the bumpsticks and set the cam gears the way they came off that bugger so i thought . so i put the motor in wired er up just tossed the cas in and gave it a rip . the car started up suprisingly i never had that happen with out setting the cas also but i noticed it was sluggish on the throttle so i shut her down set the cas and it wont start back up . i ran a systems check on my haltech about the only thing that makes sense to me on that thing it was all good everything was giving a signal the onlyi can think is that the cas the way i put it in the first time was set the right way 4 how the exhaust cam is set i was looking earlier i c the links in betwwen the mating marks r only 9.5 instead of 11 im sure the exhaust cam is off a tooth or 2 . another thing when i set it tdc the links were nowhere to b found with the marks on em dunno maybe sumone put a gaskett on theere b4 . just trying to get her on the road i set it up 4 drag this time round got a precision pt-67 bc springs retainer hks cams 264 272 step 2 peak boost manifold and downpipe kit and a kaaz 2 way and a cmpetition twin disc trying to go tens on stock headgaskett and bottom end we got one more event out here in jersey in october i think 4 the season . i got it down to 12.25 with a 2.0 sixty foot with a gt2871r a welded diff stockmanifold on pump 325 horse and 300 torque and thats on street tires so its got a ton of space 4 improvement just need like 420 whp to get down in them tens . imma sell the pt 67 soon and set it back up for a little drift and drag i want a gt3067 that would b nice all purpose if u got any ideas 4 me let me know thanx
HA! I was just messing around too. I did a recent cam install on my s13 blacktop and noticed that you have to reset the CAS regardless if you changed mechanical timing or anything. How exactly did you do the install (seperate the cam gears from the shafts, did you have the motor set a TDC, etc....), do you know what the FSM says about the CAS sensor. Give me a basis to diagnose from. Let me see if I can find a mistake.
