Im making the post because I am sick of people asking this once a week.

This is all you need to know about doing a S15 front end conversion.  s15 conversion pictures (http://midnightmatic.tripod.com/nissankts.html)

Ok if you have a S13 your going to need the following:
Jdm S15 Silvia headlights
Jdm S15 Silvia radiator core support
fiberglass fenders
fiberglass hood
front bumper (any S15 bumper)

www.importfan.com sells the whole kit for 2999.00
www.midnightmotorsports.net sells the same kit for 2899.00
e-mail me about it if you want it.  These are not something either one of us keep in stock.  It could take all the way up to 4 months to produce the whole kit.

If you have a S14 240sx you need the following:
Jdm S15 Silvia headlights
fiberglass fenders/or Jdm S15 Silvia fenders
fiberglass hood/or Jdm S15 Silvia hood
front bumper (any S15 bumper)

Yes you can use the real S15 fenders for this conversion on a s14, BUT there is a big gap at the top of the fender and the bottom does not fit either without modification.  Soon our web site will have all the info on making the metal fenders fit.

Vis Racing sells a kit including S15 headlights, Fiberglass fenders, fiberglass hood, Drift front bumper... all for 3500.00 retail.

We sell the same kit for 2900.00

E-mail me if you have any interest in buying the kit.

Thanks for the info.  Couple questions.  #1) Is the drift bumper fiberglass.  #2) Can you get the kit with the stock bumper?  I would really rather have a urethane bumper.  Thanks

Yes you can use a stock s15 front bumper but its going cost around another 250 and yes the drift bumper is fiberglass.

If you get the kit as a whole is it a direct bolt on? Is there any mod people will need to make to there car? What about wiring for the lights? Do the fenders meet up with door panals(flush)? Can you get a S15 CF hood?

Yes the S13 kit is a direct bolt on. &nbsp; The lights will need to be tapped in, I am sure most of you can figure that one out. &nbsp;Just like any body kit. &nbsp; It my take a little push and shove to put on. &nbsp;I can provide a carbon fiber hood for the S14 to S15 conversion for 200.00 more.

The FIBERGLASS fenders are flush. &nbsp; The metal (JDM S15 Fenders) will have to be custom fitted by a body shop.

Does anybody make CF hoods for the S15 kit on the S13?

To what i know, no... they don't. &nbsp;I could have one made.

that would be crazy expensive to have a CF hood custom made wouldn't it? &nbsp;I'm just curious b/c I'm thinkin about doin this in the next 6-8 months.

Yes, i believe last time i checked my supplier for a custom CF hood it was 700.00. &nbsp;Whenever your ready though let me know and ill call around and make sure no one is making it. &nbsp; <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

What other front bumpers would be available for the conversion? (S14) I dont care for the drift. Looking for something more subtle, maybe a bit more so than stock S15. Are there any aftermarket urethane bumpers? ALSO, can you get jdm tailights for S14's? &nbsp; What do they look like?

Thanks

There isn't a big difference between JDM and USDM taillights, they are pretty much the same. &nbsp;Except the USDM tail have a side marker light.

Here are my questions Matt:
Is there any company that make metal fenders for a S-15 kit?

What material does Masa and Strawberry Face use for their conversion kits?? are you able to get a hold of one?? if so how much??

yeah, they do at a couple different places but i know importfan sells their s15 conversion kit with a carbon fiber hood with the hood scoop. &nbsp;here's a pic of the one they sell with their conversion kit:S15 Carbon Hood (http://www.importfan.com/product.asp?0=360&1=364&3=770)

correct me if im wrong but a S15 conversion on a S14 doesnt require the radiator support and that only the s13 will need the radiator support? is theres a certain reason or does both really needs it? thanks &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> &nbsp;i really wana get my conversion soon but yet i still need to gather more useful information like this to get it. thanks again!

as far as i know, after you get the fenders and hood and lights on the car, any real aftermarket s15 bumper will work for the car. my idea is to get the parts and get my bumper from some where else to make it look like a real s15 front because the drift bumper is way to common for a conversion. well thats my thoughts so yeah &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

yes thats one of the bumper i want the most! after all the research i've done , i found out that you can only get this in japan. the cost is $800 + $400 shipping. i heard its part of the nismo option. After i found out the price i have no comment <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/nervous.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':nervous:'> . So i guess i'm just going to stick with any bumper as long as i have a s15 front <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

ps: nobody knows what that bumper is called <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

how does the price sound to you? &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':sly:'>

Actually I found a place that can offer that bumper.

J-Spec (http://www.jspec.com)

They can offer the bumper for $700 + shipping. &nbsp; But the bumper is used, and taken from the junkyard in Japan. &nbsp; Its still a good deal IMO. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sly.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':sly:'>

I guess you can call it the "S-15 SpecR Aero S" bumper. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/satisfied.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':satisfied:'>

1. &nbsp;honestly which looks better, S13 or S14 with S15 front end? &nbsp; It seems like the S13's front bends down a bit and doesn't look very natural. &nbsp;BUT S13's are cheaper to purchase to do the conversion which is what i will be doing

2. &nbsp; In GT Spec R's sig, what year is that white rear end from?

ok maybe 3 things <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/blush.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''> &nbsp;is that purple s15 conversion on import fan the s13 or s14?

Yea, if you have a fastback you can get 180SX taillights. &nbsp; If you have a S13 coupe you can get R32 taillights. &nbsp; Now if you have a S14 you can swap tails between the 97-98 and 95-96. &nbsp;Thats about it, you can also paint your tails or use some vinyl.

from wat i was told and heard..i heard that s15 OEM headlights are direct bolt on to a s14..meaning lets say..u took off ur hood..fenders and bumper..and u have a bare front..and u have s15 headligts in hand..and u can place them in..w/o no modification..my friend said he heard that from a guy who installs the s15 conversion kits..is that true??

also..i was planning on doing this conversion..but i dont wanna spend 2.5gz on the kit..cuz i mean..1g alone is on headlights

i plan on buying the headlights on ebay for about 600 bucks..and buy everything else sperately..would that be cheaper?..is there a way i can get those fiberglass fenders that bolt on?

does the s15 hood bolt on directly? where can i get the hood?..and for the bumper..ill juss buy it where ever...

is there anything else im missing that i need to complete the conversion?

oh yea..i have a s14 95

In my opinion, buying a kit would probably be cheaper than buying parts separately. But buying parts separately gives you the freedom to choose the hood and bumper style that YOU want.

I have some questions. What does the S15 radiator support do and why is it necessary for the s13/180sx? VIS says that the stock radiator support can be modified, but I have no idea what they're talking about. Anyone know what they mean by modifying?

Buying everything piece by piece is not cheaper, even if you get the lights at a good price. &nbsp; The only place I know that can probably offer the OEM hood is Jspec (http://www.jspec.com). &nbsp; As for the fiberglass fenders you can get them at Import Fan (http://www.importfan.com). &nbsp; As for the bumper, you can obtain one also anywhere, but its not cheap basically between $500-$800.

I would just go with the kit, unless you spent alo of time searching and asking questions to get a good deal.

I have decide to go with the Kouki (97-98) look because you get metal fenders and everything is direct bolt. &nbsp; Also since I have the kouki grill, I'm stuck with this idea.

BTW with the money I plan to spend on this conversion, I will have the front end and full Bomex kit...all at the cost of the S-15 conversion kit...maybe a full bucks less. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>

I'm not 100% sure about the radiator support, but I believe this is necessary to bolt on the headlights and keep the bumper in place, while having the fenders in tack.....i think &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/huh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

yes going from S14 to S15 you do not need the radiator support. however you do need to drill 2 half circles on the stock frame so the projector housing on the S15 would fit properly. use dremel or something fo the &nbsp;likes.

S15 Cf hood is available for the S14 conversion. fiberglass unit cost about $2500 with hood, fender, light, etc.

thats kind've scary coming from a guy that says he installs these S15 conversions.

you will need to drill into the stock bumper frame to be able to fit the projector housing. yes they bolt on, but modification is needed.

For any of you guys that owns an s13 ( 240sx ) and want to do a conversion, &nbsp;I have been told by someone who knows alot about Nissan cars that the s13, s14 and s15 chassis' are all the same. &nbsp; The only custom thing you need is the fenders and the radiator support. &nbsp; All the rest of the conversion can be done with OEM Parts and is direct bolt on ... the hood, bumper, headlights. &nbsp; The street weapon drift bumper is prob less costly going for about 325$ us at most online webpages.

People who make the fenders are West Yokohama ( www.westyokohama.com and Strawberry Face. &nbsp; Hope this helps... I cant wait to order my conversion one of these days when I save up enough cash hehe

any opinions on this guys?

Speaking of West Yokohama, anybody know anything about the headlight harness kit that are available from West Yokohama? What is it for (I'm guessing some direct plug-in sort of thing) and would the kit work for our 240sx? Just kinda curious.

Keo, the OE hood will not work for '89-'94 240sx. I was thinking of buying the S15 conversion fenders and hood from West Yokohama. I saw it on TakaKaira.com and the price is good. But import tax and shipping would probably be hella.

ok this is what i know from installing the s15 conversions:

the s15 front panels and hood bolts on to the s14 chasis wiht very little problems. BUT there is alittle gap at the door and i think on the hood.. something like that. thats why they make the s15 fender conversion for the s14.

the s13 will need the strawberry face or copy fenders. the s15 hood can be used but the hood hinges needs to be re-done. i mean the hinges need to be moved and customized. thats not so bad. just take it to a body shop or do it your self. on MY s13 i didnt change the core support i just made some ghetto brackets. its not that bad i copied everything i saw from importfan.com. its very sturdy and nothing shakes. at least it works and everything wass less than $1800. copies are great!

i think thats it! holla

Mixedwell, is your bumper held on by nothing but bolts connecting the fenders to bumper and headlights to bumper? Or is there other things holding up the bumper as well?

So far I got headlights, headlight harness kit (for S13), and fiberglass hood. Still waiting for fenders and OEM bumper. I highly recommend the headlight harness kit.

What kit did you buy, and how is the quality? Specifics and pictures of your setup would be awesome!

I am buying a 95 240sx (s14) with front end damage. You can see the pictures if you goto this..
http://www.greattalkingbox.com/car/
I am planning to fix the frame, take it to a body shop, and that's it, then I will put on a conversion, I was thinking of the s14a conversion, but then, I said to myself, why not just do s15! It'll look so much nicer, and probably have to spend a lot of money anyways. The hood, passenger fender, headlights, are all messed up on the car, so yeah, s15.. Where can I get all this done, I havent seen any specific company names I should look up or call, I am located in San FRancisco, California.
Pretty much just looking for how much it'll cost to get a s15 front end on my 95 240sx. Thanks everyone! I ahve been reading this forum for 2 days now, and did the searches, lots of different answers. So I would like to talk to a comapny or a representative.
