Do you have to be an SCCA member for most of those events?

you get like a 5$ discount if your a member and i think thats about it.. oh and you cant earn points for your class if your not a member either. i paid 20 instead of 15 last weekend and got all the same priveledges(sp) as everyone else

What about where it says "members only" (http://www.solo2.com/eventflyers/flyer_080203.pdf)?

That's kinda odd. It might have something to do with it being a night event, insurance reasons, etc. I think I saw a phone number on that flyer...call 'em up and ask.

I did some research and there was drama with night events and people misbehaving due to alcohol being present at the track, which is NOT ALLOWED. So that night event has been restricted to all that aren't members. Other than that it says the SCNAX event, on the following weekend, will allow everyone to participate. So I need to check that one out and try to make it my first auto-x event.:D

congrats, you are deep in the heart of hardcore autocrossing. Most california events have a couple hundred drivers at a regional. Some require preregistration to get in due to the number of people signing up. Some regions do a morning and afternoon session. I've heard of a lot of the really dedicated semi-pro autocrossers out there are able to make 3 events in a single day. They do this by the different regions allow you to sign up to run and work at a specific hour. So the go to one sight, walk the course, work an hour, run an hour, pack up and head to the next site. Hard - Core.

Not trying to scare you. If I were you I would call the contact person for the event several days in advance so there are no surprises for you.
