Weird problem tryign to fill S14 with gas.

Im having a weird problem when trying to fill my car with gas. It will only allow about .10-.15 gallons of gas before it trips the safety shut-off on the pump. I pulled off the filler neck and it wasnt clogged and rummaged around in the gas tank around where the gas comes in at and there wasnt anything I could immediately feel that was in the way or anything. When I do have to refill the car with gas, its usually below a quarter tank of gas and it makes a hissing sound, so Im assuming its building pressure properly. Is there any vents I should be checking for to see if they are clogged? Or has anyone else experienced a problem like this before?

is it possable that ur gas meter in the tank isnt just off and wen u do have a full tank it only reads half????
just a guess
happined to my cousins 86 corolla
the needle was bent and wasnt reading the right amount of gas

Nope, cause it will take in a solid 10-11 gallons of gas and it wont be 100% full

how many miles does your 10-11 gallons of fuel give you>?

Mine has a similar poblemmine stops at 12 or so. honest i fill it till it gets mad at me. But 20 gives you about half a tank or so Judy members that and 40 fills it that's what it is with me (premium)

Bout 200 or so. It will happen even when I drive it in almost completely empty also. It just hisses more when its that low though.
