Just curious since I have seen a few wheels up for sale that I'm considering. Oh and my S14 has BPU's on a KA. Thanks

26 is a bit heavy...if ur going from stock wheels, u will definately notice the added weight and the car WILL feel slower.
Compensate with light tires maybe?

This isn't Formula 1.

No need to get all concerned with wheel weight effects.

26 lbs is fine, especially for a 18x9 or 18x10, which I assume is a multipiece wheel.

The ass dyno is not a good measure of your car being resultingly slower.

If it looks good on the car and is flush, then you coo.

+1

Clowns that passed algebra 1 and highschool physics preach all day about wheel weight but then buy steel belted tires so it doesn't matter.

I'd wager that 90% of people that say they feel wheel weight are just confusing stiff sidewalls and bigger rolling diameter with inertia and unsprung mass.

that was a really good post man

oh what a bunch of bullshit

wheel weight is completely noticeable, and adding any unsprung weight fucks up driveability. but then again, going with 18's in general isnt really a performance benefit.

going from some 24lb knockoff wheels to 14-15lb FD RX7 wheels made a HUGE improvement as to how the car drove, handled, braked, and felt while driving over things like rough terrain and potholes.

sorry, its not about being in "f1" its about having parts on your car that actually improve rather than diminish safety, driveability, and performance. i wouldnt run a 26lb wheel on any of my cars.

then you will be stuck with small, ugly, horrible fitting wheels....your cool

I think 3rd gen rx7 wheels do look good! I will agree on the horrible fitting though....16x8+45 or something. Aie!

yeah, your manhole covers look great.. i'll have to keep an image of your car in my head for inspiration when i am on the shitter.

16x8 +50 -- does the offset matter if you have long wheel studs and some machined spacers? no, because they are 14-15lb wheels and look good.

16-17 inch wheels are choice for s13/s14. but then again, 26lb 18's look HAWT Y0.

are you talking about those sport max wheels with the huge dish?

YES 26lb wheels will diminish the cars performance. There is no debating that FACT....PERIOD. Slower accel, slower braking, worse mileage(not much) etc.

You just need to decide if the its worth comprimising those for the 2 grand you save on heavier wheels... I wanted nice flush wheels but didn't have 3 or 4 grand to spend on light, baller 18's....therefore i settled with nice heavy ones...

so get bigger brakes, more power, and dont be a bitch. if 10 lbs a corner inhibits your ability to control your car effectively, then learn to drive better.

thanks! glad i do good for someone!

and i got my pizza wheels for less than your front bumper

oh and just to spite you, i weighed an extra 17x9 +35 (i have 17x8 +8 on my car)
19 lbs

but im sure these will weight a little more
should be going to get them this week

lol...fuck performance, were all a bunch of ricers anyways...

If we are saying "FUCK IT, HEAVY WHEELS DONT MATTER"

we should ban all threads that involve

bigger brakes
more boost
alluminum driveshafts
Intakes/exhaust

Like i said.. I bitched/cheaped out and got big heavy ones...but the question is a valid one to anyone who gives a shit about performance.

Wheel weight makes a huge difference. My konig immagines 17x7 (22.4lbs) made the car slower. I wish I had done more research and looked at how much they weigh. My friend just bought fno1r-c's 17x8 that are only 17 lbs each. That is probably my biggest regret with my car is that I didnt save the extra couple of bucks and get some rims that were lighter. The weight of the wheels will change the way the car accellerates and brakes IT DOES MATTER. People are shaving 1lb off of their pulleys and a few lbs off of the flywheel for gains. In my case, just by putting my friends wheels on, I could save 21.6lbs off the drivetrain. Trust me, there would be a difference.

Not to mention the 1" extra grip per tire.
