for those recommending PBMs for daily... u people must like getting ride in the ass. But like everyone said.. save up a little more for stance and youll be glad you spent that little more. Make some friends with 240s and get a ride along to see what some coilovers feel like. If your looking to save some money and willing to try out a new brand, this local brand i know is well in your price range and is exactly perfect for street, pm me.

Seems as though the people who have never had the previous gen coilovers speak so lowly of PBM when in fact, they have no idea that they have a new coilover as a revision to their "stiff to the ass" coilover. |

PBM's aren't even that bad.. I have the gen 2s? or 3s.. The last gen before they made them all copper and cool looking.. But I daily the car with the front two clicks from full soft and the rear 5 clicks from full soft, the only time that they are annoying is low speed bump (< 30 mph). Other than that they're really not that bad.

ground control sleeves with koni yellow. theres your answer for $900! :]
megan function godspeed etc.. they are all made in china i believe. PBM is just too rough for daily in my opinion. save couple hundred bucks more and get fortune auto.

I picked up a set of 200 mile Fortune Auto 500 series coilovers for $900. That's about $200+ shipping I saved and the spring rate is superb, so comfy for daily driver. Do a search around the forums for some, it's usually what I do. I do agree however, that you shouldn't cheap out on coilovers; bad coilovers on an a 240 is a shitty drive lol, it's torture! Also, fortune-Auto is here in the US which makes it easy if you ever needed something.

I'd just save up a little more and buy stance or powered by max coilovers since they are only couple hundred more, around $1000-1200, depending on which version you get. Then again if you want to go with cheaper ones, its cool, just depends on your budget and what you see is worth your money.

OH LOOK. THIS THREAD AGAIN.
pbm, stance, forture. You can get replacement parts for all of them. If you can save $700 for trash, I'm sure you can save another $300 for something decent that you can actually repair when they blow. For all those saying PBM are harsh, I just received my Comps a couple weeks ago and I commute on them 2 clicks from full soft. They are no harsher than the Tein Super Drift, or Stance GR+ I had before.

Just save! i mean if your budget is 900 than why can't you wait and save up another 100 or 2 for some great daily quality coilovers? It's not about being baller, just patience which is what a lot of guys here are. Cheap coilovers aren't fun! I bought megans and were good at first but don't last and i don't even track or drift just daily. Just wait and save the unnecessary worries!

PBMs are nice coil overs just that everyone here puts them on full stiff then complains about them. if you dampen them right they would be good for a dd. stance and zeal are all also good coils. I've heard good things about function&form as well. but when it comes down to it, high quality coils like that are still gina be about 2-300 dollars our of your spending range especially if you want them new. so my suggestion is that you should just save a little more and keep your eye out on the part outs. just my 2 cents

keep your money.. look around till you find a good used set and a month later if you can't find any look in your wallet and you should have that extra $200 dollas saved. Then you go and buy those new good quality coils

I've just bought Fortune Auto Dreandnoughts for my S13.
You guys are lucky you get to have at least PBM for $1000. Totally worth it in my opinion in that price range over stance in similar price (Fortune 500 seemed more comfort oriented). I remember I bought my JIC Magics in 2003...those were $2400 but still didn't blown once compared to the Teins everyone has back then. |

But if you're at $900, whats another $200? Thats like saying you have $75 and you could buy a nokia for $50 or save another $25 and get a smartphone... You want to be able to watch porn or settle for playing snake? |

gen 3 pro coilovers also very narrow minded how everyone bases PBM coilovers off a review thread of the competition coils and put that review on the pro coils , people who are complaining probably havent even the slightest idea how competition coilovers feel. everyone on zilvia is a coilover inspector and reviewer they have tried everything on this forum , and it is a fact that a coilover is either shit or godly. Quote:
also OP if you aren't in a rush just save up for the pro PBM coilovers or any other quality coilovers , youd be surprised how much more choices you'll have in coilovers with just a couple hundred more dollars rather you wait 1-2month(s) for more money for a better setup, instead of waste $900 on shit coilovers that you'll regret, buy what you really want now so you dont have to spend more money later replacing shit parts. my

If you've only got $900 to spend, you could do one of two things:
1) Save an extra $300 and buy some decent coils. The $1200 coil range is full of quality options - Stance, PBM, Fortune Auto, etc. 2) Buy some used coilovers. I got the Kei Office's on my S13 for $700 used in good condition and they ride better than all of the BC, Megan, D2, equipped cars I've been in/driven. Got used Stance's on the S14 from the previous owner, he bought those used for like $800 and they're solid. |

For the record, I never own a Prelude, but friends with Trung and Kyle. Unfortunately I stopped going to the forum because too many spam/hacks/network downs. I know you guys are up...but too many car groups and the Z group takes precedence.

I was in the same situation man...i was going for cheapo's until i did my research...i don't know if the term "you get what you pay for" is correct or not, but I would go for reliability especially if you're already spending $900....do your research dude...

I have D2's on my Subaru daily and love them. 8/6k spring rates, not super low but tucking tire, and I keep the dampening all the way soft. Perfect for the street. I'm looking for coilovers for my s14, and am between D2 and BC. Realistically the deciding factor will be which one I can get a better deal on. BC's can be had for around $950 new, and they're definitely not junk.
