Definitely agree with sr20sean.
My girlfriend and I went to Vegas last year in July. Probably the worst time of the year EVER, but that's the only time she could take her vacations on. I think it was around 113 degrees during the day. At night, shit was still horrible. Rooms had AC though. So, that was nice. If you're not into drinking, gambling, and partying, it can get boring fast. If you're planning a 10 day trip, be sure to book something like that in advance. Hotels can get pricey depending on where you stay(Luxor is pretty cheap). Next time we go, we're staying at Caesars Palace. We did a 3 day trip. Not sure what 10 days would cost. Anyway, Vegas is full of shows. Again, not cheap. Average cost for shows was $100+ per person. There's an Exotics Racing School down there as well. Not cheap, but that can be loads of fun. Hollywood isn't that far from Vegas. 4.5-5 hour drive. Might be cheaper to fly though. Haha. If you stay in the Vegas strip, everything is pretty much within walking distance. Plenty of cabs and buses too. No real need for a car rental there. But, yeah. Book everything in advance. That alone will save you tons of cash. Check out Vegas.com for deals. |

Minus the roofies.
You don't have to stay at the nicest hotel, since everything is a can ride away. Or if your down for walking that's cool too. You can walk and drink. You can drink in cabs as well. Clubs I've been to and really enjoyed: xs, surrender, haze, drais. A tip, figure out which club you wanna go to and go there during the daytime. They will usually have someone out front begging you to come an will put you on the guestlist. Strip clubs are fun as well. You can walk around in the late hours and there will be people working the strip bringin people to the strip club. They will even give you a ride there and bak to your hotel, and either pay for your entrance or give you a voucher for a couple drinks which will probably cost just as much as your entrance so it's a wash As far as casinos go, if your gonna gamble it really doesn't matter. This is pretty much what I do when I got Vegas. It's only a 3 hour drive for me so I frequently go there lol. |

Yes the drinks are expensive. I ordered 2 redbull vodkas at drais and it was $36usd! So your better off to get good BEFORE going in. If your sitting in the casino you can get free drinks. But you have to be gambling. If you have to pay to get in to a club it usually cost between 20-30 usd. But do the guestlist trick and you won't have to pay. It also helps to get you in faster if you have girls with you. At least an 1:1 ratio but the more the better.
Also, try to hit a pool party. Rehab, Tao beach etc...those are fun too Um I think that's pretty much it for party tips. If I think of anything else I'll post it up for ya |

Oh ya one more thing. If your just booking a normal room, this is what I like to call the $50 sandwich. When checking in, they will ask for your id and the card you used to book your room. In between the id and card sandwich a $50 bill (or $20) and ask them for an upgrade. They will usually do it for you. So you will be paying the basic room price but they will put you in a suite. It only works at the "older" hotels (I.e Luxor t.I) we tried it at the aria once and got shot down lol

1: If you play your cards right you'll get your drinks comped (NARF!). Remember, you can get comped drinks anywhere as long as you're gambling, but the speed and volume of the flow of liquor is directly proportional to the distance between you and the barkeeper. Find a penny machine at one of the less crowded bars (they're built in to the bar) in a casino and you'll be paying pennies on the dollar for your alc, literally.
Tip your barkeep and/or waitress! 2: If you're planning on hitting up the clubs, depending on the club and the night, they can be almost impossible to get into. Showing up with a couple of hot chicks can make it infinitely easier. 3: Wear a suit! 4: Hookers are cheapest between the hours of 5 and 8 a.m...or so I've heard. Have fun! |

what hotel? Mandalay Bay by far my favorite place to stay...planet hollywood, palms, luxor, monte carlo, treasure island, mgm, new york new york, if ur looking for a younger crowd. venetian, encore, wynn, aria, if u have alot of money to spend. harrahs, imperial palace, excalibur, ballys, tropicana, hooters, riviera, stratosphere, are usually the cheaper places to stay at. circus circus only if ur bringing children.
clubs? marquee@ the cosmopolitan is the newest hot spot to be at, followed by xs @wynn, lax ghost bar@ palms @luxor, tao@ the venetian, pure @ cesars palace, jet @ the mirage. lounges go to koi @planet hollywood, rum jungle@ mandalay bay. forty duece @ mandalay bay, diablos@ monte carlo, studio 54@ mgm, voodoo lounge 2 rio bars pretty much every hotel has one or more bars to hang out at. fun things to do? magic shows, cirque de soliel, tournament of kings@ excalibur, bellagio water show(every 30 minutes) pirate show @treasure island, volcano show@ the mirage(once an hour) 4 rollercoaster type rides@ the stratosphere, bungy jumping @ circus circus. beer pong @ oshea's...during the summer the pools at mgm and mandalay bay are off the hook. and plenty of strip clubs of ur choosing( crazy horse, saphires, spearmint rhino)BUFFETS!!!!rio has the best in my opinion casino? stay away from the fancy hotels/casinos..they tend to have a high minimum of playing(50 bucks minimum) other less fancy hotels/casinos usually have a 5 buck minimum to play im usually in vegas every other month so all this info comes from first hand experience..others may think differently but these are the things i usually do when im there...ENJOY!

only retards spend money on nice rooms, just look for a place close or on the strip that offers something cheap.
1) go back to the girl's room they usually go all out 2) its not like you will be in your room unless your walking in at 7am and passing out on the floor learn how to have a good time, be positive and just have fun and you will be set.

36 dollars for 2 vodka redbulls is pretty much the same as what you pay in clubs over here(provided they are double measures), but the clubs here are run down shitholes! |

Since you highlighted that you're Irish Im going to guess you are pretty fair skinned so I would def take some sun screen. If you plan to sleep all day and be out all night then its not an issue but if you plan to lay poolside and check out the scenery at all you NEED sunscreen.

THIS IS MY KINDA THREAD!
I got to Vegas about every 2 weeks. Fortunately I get comped suites at any MGM/Mirage Hotel (Aria, Bellagio, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, etc) so I am able to go so often. My favorite hotel is ARIA hands down. The nicest rooms, even the standard rooms are super nice. The location is right in the middle of the Vegas strip and has a tram that can take you to the other MGM owned hotels next to it. Shopping is right next to you. But ARIA is EXPENSIVE if you have to pay. I think rooms average about $250 a night? I'm not sure since Ive never paid. Second favorite is Mandalay Bay. It is on one end of the strip but the rooms are nice. If you want to have fun play CRAPS, but you do need a good chunk of money to play right. Its where all the people are cheering and yelling haha. One buffet that stands out is at the RIO. Seafood buffet if you like seafood and lobster, crabs, etc. The Wynn buffet is nice too. If you have never seen a show I definitely suggest Blueman Group at Venitian or KA at MGM. Quite expensive but very cheap compared to 3 hours of your time gambling. I know they offer student rates for blueman. As far as clubs go, make sure your girl to guy ratio is good. If this isnt the case and you dont know anyone at the doors you probably wont get in. HAZE@Aria, TAO@Venitian, and Encore@Wynn seem to be the popular ones. I know Pure@Ceasars is pretty chill too. Obviously you have to dress to impress as some of these clubs have very strict dress codes. Also if you dont know anyone the wait in line can be easily 2+ hours on a weekend. The main point is to have fun and just let loose. Do whatever you want whenever you want. Ive never been to a strip club in Vegas and probably never will but ive heard some great things. I know they have people on the las vegas strip at night asking to take you in their limo to a club. Should be easy to find. Oh and all those ppl trying to hand you porn cards is classic. They just dont quit. Driving to LA is very possible but its about a 4 hour drive. Let me know if you need any more suggestions! I will probably be there when you are haha ALSO, who pays for drinks in VEGAS?! Just gamble and you get free drinks. Ask for 2 at a time and tip em a buck.

Gambling is risky although you already know that. That is probably the only negative which is losing money. Also its not the greatest of places off the of strip. The Las Vegas strip is one of the safest places you can be. There are cameras everywhere as well as cameras in every taxi. They pay big money to make sure it is safe.

A lot of the buffets offer a full day pass for like $40 or $30 but thats for the cheaper ones. The nice ones are about $40 for dinner. I dont think you want to eat a buffet for every meal so there are plenty of nice restaurants around. Both expensive and moderately priced. And then there is fast food in the food courts.

Damm I amazed no one from vegas chimed in.
clubs we got pleanty, even if you get those free passes that you get in hotels you still have to wait in line, best thing to do is get on the list usually have to do that early, the wait isnt as long. Also watch out with people selling thsoe passes THEY CLEARLY SAY NOT FOR RESALE! but its fun see'n tourist gettin hustled lol. Hotel, you dont have to be a nice hardcore suite, lets face it you wont be in your room most off the time anyways. Now if you goin with a big ass group maybe a suite would suit you better jsut have people put in for the room. Food, we got tons of places. places I recomend. anything City Center. Wynn Belagio Mandalay bay T.I Venitian and Palazzo dont be affraid of goin to Freemont street they have cleaned it up alot in the past few years, also the bars arent that bad and its half off what you will pay at the strip. Sadly I dont have anymore club hook-ups and if I do its for tables ( not cheap). let me know if you got anymore questions you can PM me. also there is more to do then jsut gamblin in this town.
