i have a 96 240sx.

my window switch stopped working for my driver side but my passenger side window still works.

i replaced the whole switch in the door and that did nothing

i was told to replace the amp , i took the door panels off of both sides and can not locate the amp , it is not on niether door!

if anyone has any idea of if someone b4 relocated the amps or if they replaced it with a different amp or any input at all i am very confused!

If both hoses feel hot (and it is not from heat soak), that is a good sign the thermostat is opening (which is good). Do they feel evenly hot?

Try bleeding the system: For a DOHC KA, let the car idle and as it warms up, open the bleeder screw on the intake manifold. It is right where the upper rad hose goes into the head. It is just bolt going into the intake. Undo it a few turns. Coolant should come out and and hopefully air bubbles should too. Check your coolant level in the radiator (becareful not to let it explode out on you if it is hot). Add a little if it is low. Turn the heat on high in the car, this will allow the coolant to circulate through the heater core/lines and push any air out. Bleed more air bubbles, add coolant, repeat. You may need to have the heat off for air bubbles to come out the bleeder.

Also, check tension on your water pump pulley belt. Make sure it is tight enough to spin the pump.

Replace the OEM temp probe sensor. Probably a cheap part. The coolant temp sensor is only ~$20 so I couldn't imagine the temp probe being more.

Don't drive it until you can get it to read more accurately or you can verify it is NOT overheating.

I am trying to put in a oem power antenna unit in my car (97 240sx) and someone sold me a 95 se power antenna. For some reason it does not fit (bolt on ) correctly. The seller told me it was off his 95, is there any difference from the 95 to 97? Also, where can I get the harness for it? My 97 does not have power antenna and would like to install one.

^im in the same situation as you. my 96 came with a non powered antenna. some douche bag ripped the mast off sometime at night. i went ahead and bought a power antenna. upon installation, there were no harness connectors present for the power antenna. i read that you will have to add your own wiring if you want a power antenna. I installed the antenna and connected it anyways. poor radio reception, sucks...

So in my homies s14 his front driver side area is making a pretty loud humming/buzzing noise, almost sounds like something is rubbing. i had him get his wheels balanced and it got a little bit quieter. this noise only happens after 30ish MHP.

the noise also quiets completly when he turns to the right.

could it be a bad wheel bearings, or worn out bushings?

what do yall think?

Check the wheel bearing for play. with the wheel off the ground, grab both sides of the wheel and pull. do the same for the top and bottom of the tire. if the wheel 'wiggle' at all, replace the wheel bearings. are you using stock shocks? check the upper shock mount bearing.

you can also spin and turn the wheel while its off the ground. hopefully your able to get the sound and locate it.

i believe that the upper harness is the ecu harness and the lower is the transmission harness.

yeah i already did all that an there was no wheel bearing play, hes on older HKS coilovers so myabe it could be blown? but then it would be leaking.

so i dont know. ill try spinning and turning it though.

Noob question. Thank God for this thread.

S14, getting lowering springs, and aftermarket shocks in the near future

Im planning to buy MB competition wheels as well.
My question is which size is better all around?
-17x8 +22
-17x9 +17
-17x9 +27

Also what tire size should I get all around?
-235/40
-245/40

No hellaflush/strech look. No thin low profile tires. No tucking major tire.
I want good conservative fitment w/o harsh body work. (small roll is fine)
Will these sizes hit my stock struts?
Any major rubbing?

I want to do this right as a first serious mod. Thanks.

17x9 +17. Run a 215/40.

You'll look kind of funny being so high on lowering springs.

So car ran fine. Went for a small drive, shut the car off. Adjusted the cap timing while not at TDC. Whoops. Put it at TDC [#1 at top, first camlope facing outwards] lined the cam line with the dizzy dot, made sure wire 1 lined up with the rotor.

Car wont start. Pulled plug1 and wire1 [plug was just a LITTLE wet] Im getting spark. Fuel pump primes [Yes theres gas in the car]

Nothing changed except the timing which was corrected. Whats going on?

Yeah its a stretch.
If you didnt want to stretch you'd run a 255.
You wont rub your fenders if you roll them. 17x9+17 is suken in the front on a s13.

Is it 180* off? Is that possible with the SR CAS? On a KA distributor, it sure is. Do you have a timing light? Best $30 you'll ever spend.

AFAIK, not all T28's require the restrictor. there are journal bearing versions and BB versions of the T28. i have been told that only the BB version requires a restrictor. i have also heard people say that no matter which version it is it requires some type of restrictor. it would be nice to clear this up, but i can only go off of what i have heard.

this link may give you an idea of what's going on to some extent:
