SR/KA Power Steering Pump Switcheroo

KA and SR power steering pumps are interchangeable

KA on left, SR on right

unbolt pulleys and tensioner brackets
again KA on left (14mm and 12mm bolts)
SR on right (17mm and 12mm bolts)

notice the different banjos bolts
use the one that matches your high pressure line

switch gear and presto
aren't you glad you didn't spend money on a new SR power steering pump?
(change the pump in the rain for an automatic +10 street cred points.)

you can also use a Non HICAS PSP on a HICAS bracket.

It requires modification of the back section of the pump
Ive got a post around somewhere with pics

No ya this is great news for newbies like me. My question would there be any benefit of using a hicas psp on a non hicas car if so can it be done. I'm assuming you would use the non hicas mounts

Anyone know about S13/S14/S15 SR power steering pumps? With the exception of HICAS pump, are they all interchangeable? I searched but found nothing...just KA to SR and vice versa. Any help would be appreciated.

lol i found this out during my engine swap by eye balling. i torqued down the high pressure line too much ont he SR pump while i was doing a swap in my s13 and destroyed the pump housing.

figured shoot, they kinda look the same let me compare them. mine were identical, but the ones in the pics that the OP posted are not identical.

I just bought a bunch of shit so I can hook up powersteering on my 89 coupe SE, seems that I somehow ended up with a HICAS powersteering pump so of course it has two banjo bolts. Is there any way I can make this pump work? Maybe block off the second bolt?

Bumping an old thread here...

Can anyone elaborate on which specific ka pump can work with the s13 sr? A quick search told me s13 KADE but I'd like to know if a s14 KADE will work as well.

I know this is an old thread but can't find any info anywhere. Will a ka hicas pump fit a sr with hicas? I have a sr swapped car that still has the hicas system, but my sr pump quit and I can't find a sr hicas pump anywhere.
