Well...I'm sure the neighbors are happy.
I'm fighting an electrical issue right now in the chassis harness. One of the relays for the chassis stuff is staying open and backfeeding the other relays with power which in turn is keeping power to the ECM. If I tap on one of the relays under the dash it unlatches.....I swapped it with another and it still does it so I'm a little confuseled.... |

This build is awesome!
You can definitely tell you've out a lot of hard work and effort into your build. Loved the pictures, detail, and the whole engine setup. Threads like these really inspire me to try and start a project of my own. |

A couple of days ago I made some progress on the way it runs, and got the exhaust wrapped and bolted up
You can see I still have some work to do within the tune to get it running correctly I also started working on shortening up the chassis harness for the relocation. |

Been spending a lot of time lately working my way in and around HP Tuners and troubleshooting why the engine wouldnt rev above 1500RPM (or so)
Got the extra gauges hooked up and in place Here's a video of it running. I dont have any PCV stuff hooked up and the logs show it pretty rich with no-load revving, so its a little smokey Next I'll be working on getting the cooling system buttoned up so I can actually get it rolling and any issues that pop up ironed out. After that I'll make the move to the bigger injectors and its on to the dyno.... |

I love that color! And that motor is amazing this thing is gonna be a Missile! It almost make me sad to think of an American motor in a Japanese car, but then I think of the 67 Camaro with a 1jz and it's ok again

I've worked on a ton of stuff, and been a long time patron of the drag strip and other motorsport events. After a little while, it doesn't take long to figure out that more power, and less weight always = more fun, lol

Missed a few small updates, mostly cooling system stuff but.........
After a pretty much 3 straight months of solid thrashing, blood, sweat, and many trial by fires - I took it out for its maiden voyage tonight! Felt awesome to finally get it on the road and to be able to feel the car. |

Well here we are almost a month later, been making good progress on a lot of little ticket items.
Purchased and installed some 60# injectors and vacuum block mounted, and plumbed I was faced with an issue trying to get an intake air temp sensor installed. The factory sensor uses a clip in style plastic connector and I have no provision for that. So, I welded in an aluminum bung in the lower IC pipe and installed an AEM IAT. I then recalibrated it within the tune Got a smokin-deal on some KYB GR2's and an Eibach spring setup Installed It doesnt sit too much lower, but it rides significantly better. I am not looking for that "slammed" look anyways I then moved on to converting the car over to 5-lug hubs Tonight I finished up the 5-lug and tossed my 300ZX slicks on it Headed to the dyno on Saturday *crosses fingers* |

Made it to the dyno today. All in all, everything went well, but there is some speculation about the numbers. The dyno was rented out previously and we are wondering if some settings we're not familiar with were changed.
The baseline pull barely made 260rwhp (Enough to cause speculation), and after we got the car squared away it made 390rwhp/440rwtq @ 10psi on pump gas. The way the speed comes up on the dyno, and the fact that this thing absolutely rips on the street have me wondering about the numbers....I drove it around tonight and its spinning the ET Streets all the way through 1st, 2nd, and some of 3rd. Yep, its for sale
The car is still a "BAMF" have had 0 problems with it, fires on the first revolution even in our shitty 20 degree weather. It is running a little richer now that its cold out but still runs great. I've got my eye on a nice 335i and I want to pay cash for it, selling this is my quickest avenue |
