short shifter

need help installing the shifter
any advice on how to do this??

Follow any instructions you got with the purchase of the shifter. If you didn't get any, go to the manufacturer's website and look for some. If you can't find a manufacturer, shame on buying counterfeit chinese crap. If you did get a fake and want to take a chance on using it, go buy any manufacturer's instructions on installing a shifter, such as B&M

Install the new one.

Take your shift boot off, and the rubber boot underneath. There are 6 bolts holding the stock plate. Assuming you bought a shifter that included a new plate, remove those bolts, and with some wiggling you should be able to bull it out thru the hole in the floor. Put the new plate thru the hole and bolt down.
