180sx tail light problems

i have searched!!!

everything i have searched has lead me to wiring or fuses.

have triple checked wiring and fuses are all good.

my 180sx tail lights that i just installed do not work properly.
at night when i turn on my lights the brake lights are suppose to be dimm
and then when i press the brakes the lgihts are suppose to be bright to signal that i am braking.

my lights do not do that. they stay bright the entire time and do not cahnge when i press in the brakes either.

suggestions?

did you check the little pressure switch at the petal? sometimes the little grommet falls off that pushes on the switch and the brake lights stay illuminated

E4 isnt the number, i think thats the rating, for the type x bulbs it starts with a 7 i believe.

you probably wired the park lead backwards with the brake lead

check your wiring, and check it again... and again

use a volt meter, not colors

About the bulbs, pop them out and make sure they have two filaments, that could be a simple fix. Running/brake bulbs will be a 7443, turn sigs and reverse bulbs are 7440.

when your lights are off, and you hit the brakes do all ur running lights turn on too?

Im sure you heatshrinked and taped them up good,. right....?
Maybe ur running lights wire is crossing with ur brake light wire.
