i wish i had pics but my best friends hatch ripped like that. his car was regularly tracked and had slicks. he wound parting his car, getting a s14 and buying fender braces

Those side bars can't possibly have any advantage to them.

They are just a ricer piece that won't hold up to anything, and certainly won't add any rigidity to the car.

Just get a proper floor brace and / or cage if you want to stiffen your car

I don't see the problem with them.
Looks like a lot of surface area to put cool stickers, plus you can tandem drift at WSIR

ACTUALLY those do make a difference. One problem area on 240's is they like to crack around the door frames. This is because the door frames aren't that strong. Those braces were designed to limit flex in the door frame area of the chasis. I would say those are pretty effective.

Would a cage be better? OF COURSE IT WOULD. Not everyone wants to just slap a cage in their cars though. Cages are very inconvienient for street driving and if you've got a 6-point it isn't safe to drive the car without 5-6 point harnesses ALL the time. Head room is very limited on s-chasis and stock seatbelts allow too much movement in the event of an accident. If you're not strapped down properly you can bust your melon open on the cage.

It would appear another benefit of this type of brace is that it functions the same as an eccentric lock-out kit.
($90 bar vs. $60 lock-out)

The Lockout kit is a good idea no matter what. Might as well only adjust in one place.

I usually never post anything here but this is incorrect. I have that GT-Spec Lower Tie Brace and the holes on it are SLOTTED, so it will not work exactly like an eccentric lock-out kit which the holes are centered *(Un-slotted)*.. Just fyi for everyone.

I'm using both the eccentric lock-out kit from SPL Parts as well as the GT-SPEC lower tie brace and they fit excellently!

Just wanted to share some savings with my fellow Zilvians! Pep Boys is having a promotion for 25% off online orders over $100 (& free shipping) and they happen to sell the DC Sports strut bars. They are the same exact ones that Matej has pictured on the very first page/post of this thread. I just ordered the rear bar for my S13 and paid exactly $87.44, tax included. Looks like the promotion ends 8/1/2014 so now's a great time to pick up one of these nice strut bars if you've been thinking about getting one. Also before any admeens/mods have a stroke, I don't work for Pep Boys and am not affiliated with them in any way.

Links, for your convenience ─

Sorry S14 guys, looks like they only have front for you :

found a miracle cross bar for the s14 on upgarage today.. i didn't know they made them for 14's... maybe it's a typo? but it looks a little different from the well known s13 hatch item.

http://www.upgarage.com/upgarage/sto...996/008?size=m

i'll post some screenshots for posterity as this link's lifespan is inherently short.

I've seen the miracle crossbar for S14's before, it pretty much takes up the whole back seat area... It doesn't have the pretty fit on S14 like it does in a hatch, combine that, the hefty price tag and the fact it's a eye candy brace as much as it is functional, no one bought them so they stopped production very early.
