I know that since both of my friends live in shit cities now (Though i feel for the friend that got married and met his girl in the military... he hasnt seen her since she got deployed and when she got back he just got deployed to iraq. 2 years marriage 1 year together) hahaha im happy i stayed in cali... but hey its all part of the job.

you can bring a car but it will need to go to tokyo for the initial JCI that costs something like $2000. it has to pass first time or you have to pay the fee again. the JCI will be good for 3 years then it will just be the normal process. plus you have to pay whatever other fees there are. it is kind of a difficult and expensive process but can be done.

Nah my older bro is gonna be DD'n it since hes gonna be selling his WRX. I plan to pick up a 1990 R32 and try to bring it back since it will be 25 years old by the time I leave so hopefully that will work haha.

Good-luck on that, prices on R32s has been spiking up due to the demand, atleast I know for GTRs for sure. I'd probably look for one with atleast an RB25 in it. But the whole rust thing is whats turning me off. Look for another 86, usually, the ones left in mainland are well taken care off (aka not rust buckets like in Oki). Then you still got unique options like C33 Laurel/Cefiros.

If I go back to Japan, I'd bring back my buddy's Sunny Truck.

Did you talk to Nino yet? He said right now, everybody's being forced to live on base. Basically, until they hit a certain occupancy rate, nobody's allowed off base. Same policy that started in Okinawa back in 2010.

Mike, I didnt know you were on here bro! Its Nino. Also, yea even though the form suggest you can live on base, you cant. The only people that get the option are those with one year left about. And thats only b/c they are trying to renovate all the housing. Only way to live off base is to become single SSgt or higher.

I tried doing everything I can to get off base.

Let me know when you get here if you need help with anything.
