Well im pretty sure people with similar vehicle intrest have been meeting up prior to the creation of the fast and the furious... just saying. but thanks for your 2 cents

But you're also 25 yrs old...why act like you're one of the HS kids out there? Only gaijin car club I knew in Japan were made by HS kids.

Not really sure how im acting like a high school kid by wanting to hang out with other people who have an AE86 in my area and bullshit about the car. I also didnt say anything thing about it being a gaijin only car club i was just asking in general.

Hey, I'm new to this, but I'm Pcsing to yokota. Its my first assignment, so idk what to expect but what ive read on the web. All I know is I wanna get an ae86, r32, 240z, s13.. I'm coming with a pretty good amount to spend on one, but id like a little more insight on buying and how it works there. Any help is appreciated

You go there, Find one for sale, Buy it and get a JCI for it.

Normally it better to find one with a JCI recently done.

its just like buying a car in the states. you have to get a inspection and buy insurance to register it. but your sponsor or someone in your shop will help you with the process.

Leaving Yokota today and back to okinawa. Saw 4 AE86's on base in a day, I own one by the way. Saw purple one parked near or at the airmans attic, levin parked behind the chapel near BK, another Levin at Exchange rear parking lot and lastly a black/red trueno hatch that drove by me coming from the AMC terminal. Not bad for being there less than a day and saw what is considered to be a rare car, even here in Japan.

hell they are not so rare in Oki any more, Back in 04-07 It was like only me and 2 other americans that had Hachi's. Probably had the only hachi on Kadena.

But then one of the events at Nago, we had Hachi day was probably like 15+ of them all owned by locals though

Went to visit the inlaws last year and saw like 4 on base.

I bought mine from Saitama and has shipped to Okinawa. Most the folks in oki have done the same. Ae86 in oki are pretty beat up, rusted and what not! Do you still have an ae86?

I had got mine from a buddy when he left who saved it from a junkyard, but yeah they are very rusty. mine was so rusty the Fuel tank straps broke when I was driving.

Yeah I picked one up about a year ago

Yeah I picked one up about a year ago

i picked mine up with only one dime size spot of surface rust on the bottom inside of my driver door and there is zero rust on my frame or body. i have the all white one with the black hood

i brought mine back from oki, but sourced it from tokyo, its in new mexico now black was from first bringing it it, its grey now

mine only had two small spots but it came from mainland

from what i read on this thread, American AE86 are in better condition. a few years ago, i heard Toysport in Gardena CA. was buying ae86 left and right and shipping them to Japan

Dammit, I wanted to be stationed in Japan but of course I get stationed a couple hours from my hometown. I envy all of you military car guys in Japan.
