Old rock, new rock, any rock (just as long as it's real rock). Guns n Roses, 'tallica, Ozzie, Incubus, so on so forth.

Country (yeah, I'm a country boi). Clint Black, Lonestar. . . . good stuff

Selected alternative, as long as it's not too poppy. Artists in it for the music more than the money.

Whatever sounds good at the time. Pretty much everything but pop (#### manufactured shit) and most rap.

Dave, i've been getting into digweed a lot more lately, I used to be really into oakenfold, but his stuff is getting old. Sandra Collins is really good, as is Christopher Lawrence... Umm, as far as where to download, try kazaa or winmx. Personally I like winmx better, but it's good to have an alternative.

http://www.kazaa.com

cheers 240sxnewbie and transient i`ll try them.
I only have a 56k connection so the majority of my music has been swizzed from the music shops.
And as a result i also dont have the song names just the burned CD .
(to any members of the authorities reading this i am simply sharing an in joke and under no circumstances have i ever broken any copyright laws and believe it is wrong! So f*ck off)
Buy--Burn--return. I know , scumbag aren`t i. Hopefully once i get ISDN 128k i`ll have audio constantly pumping onto CD and i`ll try all this stuff.
I like the uplifting trance like "castles in the sky"
It`s like a drug. Audio Adrenalin!

no offense, this is just my opnioin which most ppl probably won't care about cuz i like different music, but i think rave music is stupid. it's so simple, not creative, n needs hardly ne musical talent to make. i just think it'll all be gone in a couple of years. ever since i got into music a lot the past few years, i've learned to appreciate a lot of stuff, except for this techno stuff n most rap. i'm not gonna argue that what i like is better by no means, but that's just my opinion.

Its a good thing your not going to argue the fact because people who state "rave music", which there are I can think of about lets say hrmm 8 main genres with about 6-10 sub genres has no idea what your talking about. Would you say stevie ray vaughn was lame because all he did is play the guitar, I doubt it. Lets give an example of a standard 7-8 min song with on average of 16-32 sometimes more poly sounds not counting the drum overlay. You think your named "rave music" is simple try producing some, I bet that you could pick up playing a guitar 10 times as fast as setting up a midi based production studio not only with synths, samples and drum machines but also midi syncing this to a computer and then after that taking your 8 min song that you worked 5 months on and spending another 2 months mastering it if your really good.

Try that one on for size....and your statement of it will be gone in a couple years...well lets take probably the inivators of electronica...kraftwerk lets see they have been around for ohh lets say 25 years to be safe...now if you want to take the so called "rave music" it hit the states pretty hard in 90, then even bigger around 94 and since then has held up pretty much at the top so give a take its been around for 10 years and If it is so simple then why has it held up this long and been around, now dont get me started about england and how they view it, the fame there is equal to the fame of pop in the united states...

NO harm done

I used to think the exact same way. I`d listen to Jimmy page rattling off "since i`ve been loving you" and i`d think everything else was inferior , not proper music , no talent. Instead of being in the limelight for their talent a lot of bands all of a sudden where there because a big record company had there hand up there ars* like a puppet . House in particular was repetetive bullsh*t that i couldn`t even listen to without getting irritated at it. And a lot of it still is to me. But if you stop comparing it with conventional music and instead see it as a sound that creates a feeling . Maybe some of it you`ll actually hear and enjoy. YOU try light jogging no music and then try light jogging listening to "Bullet in the gun" earpoppingly loud base right up and visualize things that inspire you. Like i said Audio adrenalin. Saying that a lot of Dance i cant stand either. I just dont see anything to it. The adrenalin and feeling seems to be missing. Sh*t all thats just reminded me of LedZep "since i`ve been loving you" and i`ve just got to listen to it

ok, i understand ya'll n all n there's nothing wrong w/ defending what u like n pointing it all out. i can't relate to it or it doesn't inspire me or nething like that in neway. i know a lot of ppl here that listen to a lot of different forms of techno n stuff, n i've heard plenty of it. n it sounds like they put a lot of time into it n all sometimes, but look at classical, baroque, romantic music composers that r obviously talented n put time into their music, i actually appreciate n respect that stuff. just like somebody that's like 80 years old n likes country will probably never like rap, i will never get into techno. it's all in what "u" like, i might say i like sublime, n u can criticize them to #### telling me why they suck and how awful it is, but then i can come right back w/ some good points. just don't bring up ne POP to me . if i had to pick my fav. type of techno (even though i hate it ) it would have to be bass & drums type stuff, but i just think it would be better if the person actually could play all the bass n drum stuff on his own instead of using a machine to do it. not arguing again, just my opinion, i know everybody thinks i'm an idiot in here since most of ya'll r big fans of it.

Well since you mentioned classical let me turn you on to a song by dj ss I belive the song is called flashlight If I recall correctly its a drum and bass not jungle, and yes I can clarify the difference in the two because of 2/4 counts and 1/3 counts...but the song is a remix of beetovans 5th...and yes I will say that alot of the songs that you hear unless you get into the true underground sounds...like lawrence, timo mass, bt, or andy c, baily, red one....are pieces and bits of other songs but alot of mainstream songs ill take puff daddy for example not one single song of his is original...see I have been a dj for going on 7 years and I started off playing piano and percussion so I have a very keen ear for music..once a person reaches a point where they can actually hear each and every different sample, instrument, count beats youll be surprised how many different groups and bands still cuts off of other songs...I mean dont get me wrong i think country is boring and blahh...pop is well pop and Im not to big on boy bands ...whatever makes you go is what is good for you...ill never knock anyones choice in music if its what makes them happy..

that's the stuff i hate most, like i was at a party n then i heard a techno mix of nirvana's smells like teen spirit n i was just like wtf?! n ppl had their glowsticks n were all like, dang this is original n fast n the beat is tight.... ppl listen to a lot of different stuff though. like my friends r all metal heads, n i like some metal, but not nearly as much as them, they hate rude buddha (which is what i like), i hate pantera (lyrically, just don't find nething in there that i like, riffs r fine though).

off note, but can somebody give me ONE good techno song n tell me why u like it, n i will want to download it and listen to it. the 5 ppl that i know like techno aren't exactly die hard fans of it cuz they listen to other music 2.
