oil smells like gas

I'm past due for an oil change and went to check the oil level,Noticed it reaked of gas and now looking to possible suspects.Being leaky injector/bad oring another thing is I have a new 3 core aluminum radiator and no thermostat,The temp stays lower then factory and keeps the engine much cooler infact it seem like most drives the engine never warms up properly before I'm done driving would this cause the fuel to leak past the rings?Theres no smoke or performance loss please let me know what you guys thak,Thanks a ton.

Running without a tstat may cause your car to run rich as it is in a constant cold start loop which could cause your issue. Once the car is warmed up the coolant temp sensor will put the car in a warm loop.

Is there a reason you do not want to run a tstat? WIth a 3 core rad you shouldnt have issues with overheating if you are running a good fan setup like a stock clutch fan. Plus the engine will run better and more efficient at optimal temperatures.

IF you're going to run without a thermostat, which is nearly pointless, you NEED to still use the restrictor that the thermostat is mounted in. You just cut the arm pieces that actually hold the thermostat. Without that restrictor the cooling system does not operate properly and can actually cause an overheating condition in rare circumstances.

As for your problem, no I don't think the engine running cold would cause it. If your engine was running rich enough that fuel was leaking past the rings it likely wouldn't run at all. There are only two possible sources for the fuel. It is possible, unlikely however for the reasons listed above, that the fuel pressure regulator diaphragm is leaking. The MOST likely source is leaky injectors. The injectors would leak fuel into the cylinders when the engine was shut off. The only likely symptom is that the engine should be hard to start most of the time or in certain circumstances.

put a 180*+ thermostat in the engine

get a wideband

make sure the engine runs correct a/f ratios while driving normally
