Meth. gotta have meth. I'm slowly working towards that setup as well.

Extrude honed, external wg, and GTX2867R coming over next winter.

That's what I would do. But you can do pistons, .5 over, and deck head and block with apex head gasket. But only do that if you have it all taken apart. Don't disassemble if you have a complete stock engine right now.

From my understanding the internal gates on those aren't very great and you would have an easier time using an external gate.

Well my engine is all together right now, on an engine stand, has not been cracked open, the only reason why i bought the rods and pistons to just have a good peice of mind, me coming from the high hp mustang engine world, u always want a strong bottom, so i just figure since i have the engine out of the car why not just build it, so bought rods pistons, still debatting arp mains, gonna buy (undecided) cams, gt2871r apexi 1.5 arp head studs .50bore 9:1 cp, (undecided) deck both save up for aem ems, stock springs and lifters stock chain and stock cam gears, am i missing anything? 255 pump 500-800cc injectors tomei frp

I bought it not expecting to do a build, blew the engine 2 weeks later. Had i known i was gonna build i would have gone external, but to help as much as possible i ported that bitch out.

[QUOTE=sr20det_510;5250225](undecided) deck both[QUOTE]

You shouldnt be undecided on this. Deck both if youre gonna take it apart. At least have them measured for flatness.

If you have a factory engine sitting on a stand, don't fuck with it.

Run a 100% factory bottom end, these engines will handle up to 400whp on a good clean tune, so don't even worry about it until you need it.

If you have a STOCK 100% clean engine with good compression, then leave it alone and save your time/money/headache and purchase the following pieces:

Greddy style intake Manifold
Send the stock exhaust manifold off to Cody to get extrude honed
Garret GT2871R turbo
740cc injectors of your choice (nismo)
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator
Z32 N62 MAF
Jim Wolf Tech tuned ECU
Walbro 255lph fuel pump
+all the necessary bolt ons (fmic, exhaust, down pipe/o2 housing, intake, bov, clutch, etc...)

Run 93 octane and add a meth kit if you want.

But you'll be daily driver reliable and trap 114+ in the 1/4, and run with most anything on the road.

These engines will actually hold 500+whp on a good tune.

Key word is GOOD TUNE.

Yes.

Eric at Flawless Rides here in San Diego has been pushing over 500whp on his unopened block (stock top and bottom) for over 6 years. It's a drag car.

Me and him have hands down the best tuner in America.

He's been through every turbo between 2871 to 42r lol

Get an AEM V2 or AEM Infinity and I can tell you who to go to.

Tunes for Rhys Millen and many other racing teams.

Jim Wolf Technology.

Don't buy a stand alone, you don't need it, and it's a waste if time and a pain n the ass for what you are trying to build.

Buy a pre tuned ECU from JWT.

Call them, tell them your specs, send them your ECU and they send it back ready to go. No need for towing to dyno, down time, or waiting for some power hunger tuner to blow your shit up while trying to stroke his own ego.

I can get on board with this. I went with a haltech, but in hindsight it would have been easier (and much cheaper, and less time) to get nearly the same results from a JWT ecu
