ka24e rough idle, sometimes smooth!? searched

i put a low mile ka24e in my 1990 and it idles rough, around 650 rpm. i have changed plugs(gapped), wires, dist cap, heag gasket, Timing chain is double checked, dead on 15 degrees, new intake gasket, exhaust gasket, and throttle body. cleaned iacv. today i changed my injector o rings because one was a bit chewed up. also a new o2 sensor.

funny thing is that it will rarely start up and have an fantastic 800rpm idle , hot or cold, and then go to crap and idle roughly a few minutes later.

it does not hesitate when i rev it to take off, and eveything about 1,000rpm and above is fine and smooth.

all vacuum lines were checked today as i also tried a new wire harness. everything hooked up and started with a rough idle yet again.


any other possible solutions? i havent been stumped like this before haha. please give suggestions thanks a bunch.

did you check idle air control

if not idle air control, check egr. mine was the same.
