Hello, just bought a s13 with an sr20 and I'm building it to be a daily driver. My goal is 300hp but to be honest I'd probably be fine with 250-300. Question is about turbos. Been looking at kits on enjuku and I've erally been looking at the GT2871R kit or the ISIS RS3871 kit. Thought of the disco potato, a lot of people said just go with the GT2871R, but most threads were from a couple years ago or so. And suggestions/feedback is extremely appreciated.

Also looked at an ACT clutch, mainly the ACT street (Heavy Duty) kit, anyone have thoughts on that?

I run 520cc subaru injectors, exedy clutch (full disk not 6 puck), z32 maf, Dyno rom tune, and isis 3871 (3 years), stock head gasket, stock cams, and I still put down 297 wheel @ 16 lbs and can drive it daily. The clutch makes the biggest difference on how easy to drive daily.

You'll reach your power goal with a RS3871. The question is, when do you want to reach it? 4300 RPMS or 3800? That's about the difference between the GT2871r and the RS3871. Don't even consider the disco, as it's not worth it when you get the itching bug for more power, the disco wont meet any extra needs. If you don't care about the lag, go with the ISIS and save yourself some money.

As for the clutch, I've driven Exedy, ACT and now I have a Spec stage 2. I would prefer the Spec 2 as a daily driver clutch, so I suggest you go with Spec, maybe a stage 3 for your application. The pedal feel is very light, a tad stiffer than stock.

And just as a side note, you better expect to put in new injectors and a tune if you're shooting for 300. You can safely do 250 without upgrading injectors, but you'll still need a tune.

stock camshaft OEM internals will make 320rwhp around 17.875psi of boost from a 2871r turbocharger and 350-380 on the same turbo with a slight camshaft upgrade (very likely you wind up around 365rwhp on a dynojet) use the smaller 64 A/R hot-side for this turbo. If you want a larger turbo get a larger turbo but know that pump gas 93 octane and 18psi of boost this turbo is favorably matched to an OEM internals engine and having a larger turbo will not change that (it wont make much more if any more power on a larger turbo at the same boost pressure and you will likely loose response/spool) that is why the 2871 is so successfully mated to the sr20det.
