Is it easy as I've been reading to put the 26 valve covers on a 25?

I wouldn't say easy, no.

The valve and coilpack covers were just simply bolt on procedure, but the timing cover had to be PRECISELY cut with a 3" hole saw to fit correctly. It took a good amount of time to rig up a template and make the final decision on where the hole needed to be.

7month old thread and still hasn't sold, this is turning into a build thread. Like i originally stated Clean up the engine bay(tuck the harness, plumb the vaccum/coolant/oil lines properly, put a damn intake manifold on it, and take some updated hi-def pics! For fuck sake you guys are supposed to be a "business"

your opinions and statements mean nothing to me; if your advice was wanted i would ask for it. have you noticed that you're the only one that has said anything negative in this whole thread?

I've already mentioned in a reply to another user that it would be impossible to ever recoup the money i have put into this car so until someone would offer a trade for '69 charger or a hummer h1, i will keep it.

vision performance is a highly reputable business. we have been featured on speed tv, competed in past formula drift events and currently preparing a LS based FR-S for the 2014 Formula Drift season. if you don't have any positive contributions to this thread then you should not say anything at all.

This is a forum, everything is open to criticism! Someone blew their budget on this project and now is drift taxing to recoup loses. This car might be the cats meow in Georgia amongst all the rednecks, but it ain't shit in this in marketplace; hence the reason why no one has bitten on it. If you are such a great shop then why is this project so run of the mill?

Looks good sir!

For anyone else interested, I ended up talking to carl about the 6 speed trans swap and bought the kit from JWT along with the needed rb25 auto bellhousing. I may sell it if anyone else is interested, for $1500 plus shipping. Sorry to thread jack, just wanted to update everyone and let them know you can buy it now.

Another question for the OP. The motor, did you have custom pistons made for the increased stroke of the 26? The NEO head and 26 rotating assembly is not compatible unlike the S1 and S2 rb25. The higher lift , longer duration cam and domed pistons of the 26 will overlap. The NEO factory pistons are dished and have a shorter compression height.

Anyway, let me know! Interested to hear the process.

Ps: How do you like the gearing of the VQ trans? It's very similar to the r34 GTR 6 speed.

As many have informed me, the 350z 6 speed conversion is now available for purchase. So I may not have the only setup like that but I'm sure it was one of the first.

The bottom end of my motor is a stock rb25 neo bottom end. I was under the impression that the rb25 and rb26 used the same rotating assemblies. I have never really put that much thought into it to be honest. I was always planning on using the tomei 2.8 stroker assembly if it ever needed to be replaced.

I like the gearing well, there is the usual 1:1 chatter in 5th gear but other than that its a great transmission.

Yes that guy two posts up is a tool, if he watches FD then he will see their blown LS FRS competeing in the series, if you see it in person then you will see no money was spared he was just at FD texas with me and Danny George. As for this i think they are in no rush to sell it. If you look at the V8 that was in it before and now this, you can see this is no shortcut swap like 80% of people do. Now it is a little high but cash in hand i guarentee the price would be dropeed some.

its been a while! since the last post, all the work has been done and completed but now im looking at rebuilding the bottom end. was ready to go to the dyno for the final tune and right before we left i noticed some white smoke and after a leakdown found out there are 2 cylinders bad. looks like its bad rings, so i am ordering a set of CP pistons and ACL bearings for a fresh block.. should be back from the machine shop in a week or so. then we are back in business.

thank you. we didn't have the best luck in Texas, but i wasent driving ...

at this point i am pretty much buried alive in this car, so selling it is hardly a thought right now. maybe in 3 years after seeing it in my garage everyday ill think about it, until then im not entertaining any offers. but i would still trade for either a H1 hummer or a 69 dodge charger R/T.

this is one of the cleanest S chassis you will ever see.. no expenses spared, no shortcuts, no bullshit. i have another RB25 NEO block i am building now. will have CP pistons with fresh rod bolts and bearings. Cometic headgasket and new ARP headstuds. will bore over too.

NOW that engine bay looks like it should.

It is hard to go those extra steps sometimes. I am glad you did.

Great work.
